Waxman has threatened compel production of the information he claims is withheld (here: oversight.house.gov/document...0952.pdf)

The information Waxman seeks is related to the EPA decision rejecting California's greenhouse gas emissions waiver request. California wants to regulate emissions from vehicles independently from the US government and it’s regulations which may have occupied the field.

The EPA said “NO” in December 2007, citing to the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (here: tinyurl.com/2mjzxj) (fact sheet here: tinyurl.com/2utuf3).
