Mohammed Jawad, an Afghan Gitmo detainee is claiming that he has been mistreated while a US detainee. He is seeking to stage a boycott of trial. His first pre-trial hearing was Wednesday and he is seeking permission to boycott the main show.
Jawad is charged with crimes of Attempted Murder and intentionally causing serious bodily harm when he threw a grenade and US troops and a civilian interpreter. Jawad did not enter a plea at his pre trial hearing. He has been informed that an absentia trial and conviction may occur if he refuses to attend.
