US House passes resolution tcreating independent ethics panel
On Tuesday the House of Representatives voted 229-182 ( here: tinyurl.com/2dpzo5 ) passing house resolution HRES 895 (here: tinyurl.com/22v4fy). HRES 895 is intended to address the lack of public trust in lawmakers by creating an independent ethics panel called The Office of Congressional Ethics. It’s purpose will be to investigate accusations of wrong doing house members.
Common Cause praised this bill (here: tinyurl.com/2g8mjk) saying that this demonstrates the House’s sincerity about cleaning itself up.
