Caring for Tulasi Devi

Hey Everyone,

I recently purchased a tulasi plant and had some questions. Actually I was wondering if anyone could share with me their personal growing experiences, ideas, thoughts, etc..... I found some stuff online and from what it sounds like Tulasi can be very picky. I am more interested in some personal experiences.

thanks for your help. And as always Love & Light,
B.E.

Namah Sivaya Brothers and Sisters in Amma,

Amma has announced and has asked everyone to pray for world peace and chant the Lokah tonight at 7:30pm California time. The reason She said this was because their will be a maliffic and extremely in-auspicious planetary alignment aligning in the sky at aprox. 7:30 pm tonight (Saturday June 14, 2008) the same configuration of planets that were aligned when 911 took place in New York.

So Chant:
Om Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu

Amma's Public Programs, Retreats and Devi Bhava

Public Programs

Morning Program:

Amma arrives usually about 10 am, guides everyone thru a mini meditation. Then She starts giving darshan maybe at about 10:15 am and continues till the afternoon, just never know how long that will go, just depends on the tokens given out to recieve darshan. sometimes She has been known to leave at 5:30pm to only come back at 7:30 pm.

During the morning program there is still a question line available and a name line available. And there is still beautiful bhajans in the morning from Amritatmananda Swami etc..

Once Amma is finished she leaves to come back at 7:30 pm.

Evening Program:

Amma arrives at about 7:30 pm. There is a Satsang (spiritual talk) given by either a Swami, Swamini,Brahmachari /Brahmacharini etc.. and usually followed by a satsang from Amma. uless She is observing silence. Also sometimes there is a question answer session at a public program instead of satsang. After satsangs their are glorious and ecstatic bhajans ;o) ;o) ;o). (divine music that totally rocks the house). Followed by Arati (champhor offering to Amma), short meditation followed by closing prayers. All of this i believe end at about 10 pm or so. And then Amma is off again giving darshan, which goes till the morning hours. Usually anywhere from 2 am till 4 or even 5 am (at times).

During the evening darshan time there are bhajans sung by either Swami Amritaswarupananda or Rama Krishnananda Swami also the local satsang groups sing( sometimes they sing in the morning programs too.

sidenote:
There is food that is offered in the morning/day/ evening, which requires a fee.
There is also a snackshop with yummie pizza and cakes cookies etc..and India food snackshop etc.. with yummie fine indian foods, sometimes a sprout wrap shop, and many other coffee bar, smothie options etc..which also require a fee.

Then Amma finishes darshan for the night/ morning and leaves for the next day..

So that is pretty much the typical public program experience. It is very full and offers alot for anyone who cannot attend a retreat.

Retreat: 1st day:

Retreat falls on an evening, there is an orientation etc.. given.

Evening program with Amma, satsang, bhajans, meditation darshan all remain the same as the evening program from a public program.

Tokens are given out and there is no cutoff, anyone who wants darshan is able to get a token, at a public program sometimes there is a stop and you are not able to get a token, and you may be asked to come back the following program. etc.. With newcomers i think you can still get a token if you have never recieved darshan, though you may also be asked to come back, not totally sure on that one, maybe someone else can answer that better.

Morning Program 2nd day of retreat:

First there is breakfast offered that is included in the retreat fee between certain morning hours. Yummie oatmeal, granola, yougart etc... if you can peel yourself from your pillow to get there in tme. ;o)

Before Amma comes in the morning there is a satang given by Swami Amritaswarupananda usually about an hour or so before Amma arrives. Really great satsangs.. If you miss this morning satsang you can purchase a copy of it in the bookshop and it is also offered for view usually after darshan, ask someone for specifics if you are interested.

Morning meditation and darshan with Amma remains the same..

After morning darshan ends there is the morning satsangf video offered, there is also a bhajan practice class. which is nice. One of the Swamis lead you thru learning how to sing a new bhajan.

Later this day Amma gives another guided meditation followed by a question and answer session, which is really sweet. Sometimes She will also sing a bhajan or two..

Then there is prasad dinner given. Amma hands EVERYONE a special cooked indian dinner for all to enjoy. Then She sits by the children after handing out dinner and sits with them, feds them, giggles with them, eats a few bites of food Herself and then leaves to go get ready for the evening program..

2nd day of retreat: Evening Program

So the evening program satsang, meditation, arati and closing prayers followed by darshan all remain the same as the evening public program.

Though on this night is when there are special dramas and performances held. Skits, dances, comedies.. really fun times filled with lots of giggles. Every once in a while Amma will turn to watch the performances, and sometimes She will giggle uncontrollably, great moments.

Darshan carries on as usual. One of the nice things about the second day is that there are only a certain number of tokens given out due to there only being a certain number of people attending the retreat so.. their is a nice sense of relaxation to get darshan etc..

Retreat: 3rd day Morning Program

Everything remain the same as the 2nd retreat morning, breakfast, Swami talk, Amma arrives, offers a guided meditation, the darshan starts. This morning program seems to go by a little quicker then other morning programs, whether retreat or public because this is the day where Amma takes on the Bhava of Devi..

If you are part of the retreat you are accomidated with the beautiful option of getting to sit closer to Amma for the Atma puja (offering of the self), you are also given a free dinner that evening and 1 free chai (indian spiced tea), which really comes in handy for Devi Bhava is an almost endless night of Devi's love and grace, something definitely worth staying up for ;o).. If you are not part of the retreat, you can still attend the puja, you may not get to sit close but the grace is still completely there. Dinner and chai is offered for a fee as well as snackshop items.

Devi Bhava:

Devi Bhava is a incredible night filled with just about the highest bliss available, no intoxicants needed, just Amma's most radiant intoxicating love who has taken form as Devi Herself. We are very lucky to still be in the presence of Devi in the west, for Amma no longer dreeses as Devi in India.

So before Amma takes on the Bhava of Devi, a few things happen prior. I believe the Atma puja (offering of the self) starts at about 5:30 pm. There is a token line that is started prior to the puja so if you wish to get a low number i recommend arrive early, if you do not care what token you recieve then you can still get a token later in the night after the puja and after Devi Bhava has officially started. If you wish to recieve darshan you must get a token, which are usually distributed at the back of the hall. If you have never been to the puja and are interested in being in the hall where the puja takes place, make sure to get their early enough. Try not to bring a lot of bags and ofter stuff with you for the puja, the space gets very crowded very quickly, by bringing less stuff, you will most likely feel less crowded ;o)
If you aren't able to get in the hall for the puja, now-a-days it is overflowed into other rooms via TV screen so you can still see and hear Amma. Before the puja starts Amma offers specific rituals in blessing water and stting the tone for the puja. After the water is blessed, water containers will be distributed throughout the hall. After the puja is over the water is invibed with supreme energy. Some people drink their whole cup in that moment some people keep it and add it to a bigger vessel later. Every single drop of the water is Amma's prasad so.. however you choose to cherish it, is completely up to you ;o) After Amma has blessed the water and before the puja starts Amma gives a satsang about key points She wishes to share with all of Her children.

After the satsang has taken place, Amma and Swamiji then guide everyone thru the Atma puja. Their are specific rituals that wash away impurities that we carry around with us, which are performed as part of the puja process. It is an incredible experience, many upon many feel totally cleansed and sooo much lighter after doing the Atma puja.

After the puja is completed you will be asked to sit and meditate for a few moments and then someone at this point will announce what is to happen next. There is a lot of rearranging of the audio equipment and people that takes place after the puja is complete so make sure to listen to the announcement. The space gets a little crowded and hectic at moments because many people gather to see Devi. At this point also Amma gets up from the puja and goes behind the silk curtains to get ready for the Bhava of Devi.

While Amma is getting ready the Swami's gather around the sound system which is right in front of the stage and start off the night with the first ecstatic bhajan. ;o) This is a great time to get yourself situated somewhere. Within a few minutes later the curtains open.. this happens for about 30 seconds or so and if the crowd is quiet enough you can hear Amma's sweet voice singing Ambike Devi..

Ambike Devi Jagannayike Namaskaram
S'armadayike S'ive Santanam Namskaram
Ambike Devi Jagannayike Namaskaram

~O Mother, Goddess of the Universe, I bow before Thee.
O Giver of happiness, I bow before Thee.
(Bhajanamritam vol. 1 pg. 29)

Amma sings this as She is humbly sitting on the floor facing the crown, sari and garland of our beloved Devi.

After She sings this the silk curtains close again as Amma now adorns Herself with Devi's attire. During this time the swami's sing another bhajan or two and then the moment arrives. The curtains start to move again as the swami's excitingly open them.

There sits upon Her thrown, our Most beloved Queen of the Universe, Devi!!

Shimmering with such beauty and delight adorned with the most beautifully colored silk sari and jewel studded crown, Devi then showers flower pedals as Arati begins. At this point the first person waiting in line approaches Devi for the first Devi Bhava darshan of the night...such sweet bliss!!

And for the rest of this night folling into the morning hours the mood is just like this, Devi embraces hundreds upon hundreds, sometimes even thousands for the whole entire night of Devi Bhava. And the bhajans.. WOW!!! Cannot say enough about these most ecstatic bhajans... they go on and on and on, one after the other after the other.. soooo supreme!! If you have bhajan books and you love to sing along, make sure to bring your bhajanamritams, they are a must have !!

Throughout this most blissful night snacks, chai and other goodies are offered just outside the hall. The Amma shop is also open if you wish to make any last purchases before the night is thru.

One just never really knows just how long Devi Bhava will go until.. it could go all the way until 1pm. You just never know!

After Devi has embraced everyone who came up for darshan, She then will perform specific ceremonies. These ceremonies include:

~First feedings for infants. Devi feeds them a very yummie sweet rice pudding. reallly sweet!!

~Rice Ceremonies: For children who are going into school. Devi will take their hand and draw certain things on a bed of rice, blessing their schooling.

~Wedding Ceremonies: Where Devi will perform a traditional indian wedding ceremony for the couple getting married.

These are the three main ceremonies that take place. It is rare though sometimes Devi will also give new colors to a brahmachari, though i have only seen this done once.

After the ceremonies are finished, everyone is the asked to form a line because at this point Devi will get finally up from Her chair, the same chair She has been sitting in the whole entire night, She will then come to the end of the stage, grab a handful of flower pedals, and She will then shower Her children with pedals as they walk passed Her. After the pedals are complete Devi stands at the end of the stage, beaming with such divine radience.. looks at everysingle one of Her children in the hall. It is one of the most amazing things to witness. It is almost as if She gazes with a thousand lotus-pedaled eyes as She lovingly glances at each and everyone person. Still blows me away thinking about it..

While She stands their as radiant as the morning sun, She takes a handful of pedals and moves Her hands as some of the pedals drop to the floor. She does this a few times and closes Her eyes a few times and in that moment the silk curtains close one last time...

Many cry and call out to Her.. In this moment certain mantras are chanted to end this most auspicious night. One mantra chanted is Amritesvari Mangalam:

Amritevari mangalam
pranamatam muktiprade mangalam
bhuvanesvari mangalam
sukritinam ekasraye mangalam
(repeat)
hrdayesvari mangalam
hridilasa tejomayi mangalam
mrdu bhasini mangalam
vijayatam prema krte mangalam (3x)

O Amritesvari, may there be auspiciousness,
O bestower of Liberation for those who surrender to You, may there be auspiciousness.
O Goddess of the universe, may there be auspiciousness.
O Mother the sole refuge of the noble hearted, may there be auspiciousness.

O Goddess of the Heart, may there be auspiciousness.
O Effulgent One who shines in the heart, may there be auspiciousness.
O Mother who speaks softly, may there be auspiciousness.
Victory onto You, the embodiment of Love; may there be auspiciousness.

(bhajanamritam vol. 3 pg. 278)

After Devi Bhava the hall is filled with Devi's unconditional love and supreme grace along with many many touched hearts. ;o) The floor is covered in flower pedals that Devi had previously showered, which you may collect for yourself or to share with others. Sometimes after this most blissful night, Amma will come out from behind the curtains dressed in Her whites again and either leave the hall or sometimes She will even stay to help clean up afterwards..Her love grace and selflessness is truly endless...!!

Attachment to the gurus form with a firm awareness of his omniscience and all - pervasive nature is the perfect attiude. If there is attachment without proper awereness of the Guru's infinte nature , the disciple can fall an easy victim to all kinds of negative tenencies . devotion to the Guru baked with the understanding of his higher nature is real devotion.

6 Stages of the Path with the Mother by Savitri L. Bess

"All of life moves in cycles; the whole universe is cyclic. Just as the earth moves around the sun in a regular cycle, all of Nature moves in a cyclic pattern. The seasons move in a circle: spring, summer, autumn, winter, then spring again, and so forth. From the seed comes the tree, the tree again provides seeds, and the seeds grow into trees. It is a circle."

--Ammachi

About the Stages: The stages are cyclical; they happen over and over again in many different ways. The stages are nonlinear in the sense that one does not necessarily follow another. Sometimes more than one stage will take place at the same time. Usually their motion resembles an ascending spiral. It can appear as though you have returned to the same spot, and are not making progress. In reality, the same location could be a little higher up on the spiral.

The book, The Path of the Mother, presents myths and personal accounts to illustrate each stage. Woven among the stories are suggestions for spiritual practices relevant to each stage.

STAGE ONE: Getting to Know the Mother

Stage one of getting to know the Mother includes learning about her on all levels, and can include glimpses of all six stages. Consciously or unconsciously we all have an image or an idealistic view of the divine Mother. We know at least some aspect of who she is from our experience with our own mothers. We've been in her dark womb, experienced oceanic bliss in her amniotic fluid, struggled out through her birth canal, smelled her body, tasted her milk, listened to her cooing, and rested at her breast in her arms. Bonding with our own mothers can give us at least part of the information we need in order to know the divine Mother.

Even people who grew up motherless or did not bond with their mothers at the time of birth, understand the concept of the perfect mother. They know what the perfect mother would have done for them, and how her presence would have comforted them.

There are many ways to know the great Mother - through a stormy day at the ocean, the whistling of the wind through pines, a grandmother teaching you how to sew, an uncle taking you fishing on a secluded lake, a father strolling with you through the woods, a teacher showing you the secrets of the animal and mineral kingdoms.

STAGE TWO: Love and Rapture

The story of love takes us to the second stage on the Path of the Mother. Here we are swept into bliss and rapture beyond any we have ever experienced before. While in stage one, the love we feel is comforting, it tends to be more abstract and distant; in stage two, our love for her becomes deeply personal and all-encompassing, as a lover for the beloved.

It would not be unusual to have an experience of this second stage early on in your relationship to the Mother, sometimes before stage one. Often she gives us samplings or previews of what is to come so that we have some sense of the goal, some indication that it is worthwhile to embark on the journey in the first place. Unwavering devotion and longing to be merged with the Mother are some of the characteristics of this stage. It can also be a stage in which we experience being bathed in light, merging with the absolute, having visions of divine beings, or having the sense that all is one. Consumed with love for her, our longing brings feelings of ecstasy.

To love someone greatly is one of the simplest and, at the same time, most advanced of spiritual practices. Love alone will take us to the deeper spiritual truth within.

STAGE THREE: The Mother's Discipline

Now we come to stage three along the Path of the Mother: The Mother's discipline. In Hinduism, many forms of the Mother depict her as holding a goad in one of her four arms, and a noose in another. The goad is an instrument used to poke an elephant so it will keep moving. It is a symbol that Mother also keeps us moving. The noose is what she has around our necks to prevent us from wandering too far away--she holds the end of the rope. These are symbols of how Mother guides us on our spiritual path.

In stage three we become willing to receive her discipline and her scolding because we feel an intimacy with the Mother in a very childlike and fundamental way. In addition, because we love her so much, we actually enjoy that she holds the rope more tightly than she would in stage one or two. In this stage, with a love greater than we've ever known, she grinds us down, removes the dust and dirt, the pain and suffering, and leaves us shining with love, setting us free.

STAGE FOUR: The Shadow

In the shadow, stage four of the Path of the Mother, the Mother's light reveals old, forgotten secrets, ones that probably arouse pain and fear. The inevitable outcome of doing tapas [intense spiritual disciplines] is set into motion. Our denuded inner ugliness can cause us to feel like running away, but by this time we love her too much to run away. We have seen that her goad and her noose have served us well. With some sense of trepidation, we accept Mother's guidance through the shadow to purify our emotions, our mind, and our negative tendencies. Feelings of innocence and helplessness are particularly useful at this stage, because we might need to run to her like a child.

However, during this stage we might harbor doubts and ask, "How can the Divine Mother really love me if she allows painful occurrences?" Or, "How can the great Mother be omnipotent and at the same time let these events or feelings take place?" Perhaps you've survived the death of a loved one, fallen ill, or lost your home. Even seemingly insignificant events [such as the author's in a story that precedes] can bring to our consciousness a deep sense of frailty, loss, or betrayal.

Some of us may respond so negatively to the purification process that we don't ever want to have anything to do with the Mother again. But in stages one through three our love has become so strong, this is not likely to occur. If it does, however, it is a necessary part of the journey, and an essential wavering.

Still, rather than facing the cause of your pain, you may think you'd prefer to just let her fade out of your life forever. In this case, often there is a deep spiritual or religious wound that is the main cause of the suffering and pain. When you recognize this possibility, your awareness of it can be a major turning point in your spiritual quest.

At some point in this fourth stage you realize the real problem lies within you, so you look inside and ask, "What is the divine Mother trying to teach me?"

STAGE FIVE: Surrender

This [story] brings us to stage five along the Path of the Mother: surrender, or releasing gradually. Usually an in-depth view of our shadow leaves us feeling tender and washed out, and often with a sense of failure. It even might leave us with a sense of disorientation as to who we are and where we are in relation to the world around us. In this state of not knowing, we are the most likely to have an experience of surrender; we are likely to have a glimpse of what it means to allow the Mother to enter in, filling us with her grace and her infinite love.

Most of us are terrified of surrender because we think it implies no longer being in charge, no longer being in control of our lives. In actuality, that is exactly the goal. A state of surrender means we no longer make claims such as "I did this or that" or "I accomplished this or that." Instead we recognize that everything we do is the result of divine energy moving in and through us.

Once we've experienced the grace of surrender, we are more willing to do the spiritual practice of surrender. As a practice, surrender does not necessarily come easily, nor do we necessarily experience it as grace. Instead, we now know it is desirable, so we practice it. We say, "Okay, I guess I'd better surrender to this or that situation." We invite feelings of submission; we encourage ourselves to experience the Mother as the cause of all our actions, our thoughts, and our feelings. We coax ourselves, bit by bit, into yielding. In this way surrender is an act of will; it is a practice which ultimately leads to the real surrender. Usually it is a slow and gradual process taking place over many years.

STAGE SIX: Contentment and Yearning

The above story [in The Path of the Mother] reveals aspects of stage six in which feelings of contentment and yearning enter in, playing back and forth. In this stage we are more serene, more balanced. Sadness, anger, despair, happiness, and joy are experienced as enriching sensations, flowing through us as naturally as waves lapping onto the shore. Our lives are more harmonious, not necessarily the occurrences themselves, but rather the way in which we perceive them.

Our minds are not so bothered by the past or the future, or by what someone said or did, or at least we let uncomfortable feelings come and go more easily than we used to. Since we don't tend to cling to past events or worry about the future, a quiet space is created inside of us in which we yearn for the Mother to be with us in everything we do and say.

In this stage we begin to realize that everything we do is guided by the Mother. Her consistent patience with all our concerns-- health, finances, relationships-- has opened our hearts so that we now trust almost every aspect of her Motherhood. Her dedicated concern for our every desire has brought us to a point where we feel a comfortable faith in her counsel.

.It is said that the Mother will give us everything we want until the day we want what she wants to give us: merging as one with the absolute. In stage six, no matter what our life task is --householder, professional, or renunciate --our desire for objects of the material world begins to fade. We become content with very little because we recognize that our wealth lies in Mother's love

In ancient Hinduism, during the third stage of life after the children are raised, elderly couples used to retire to the forest to an ashram or special meditation hut. The husband and wife would leave the cares of the world behind and begin focusing on the supreme. In the present day world, this loss of interest in accumulating wealth and temporal pleasure is a very gradual process that can happen at any time. While it can enrich our lives to experience this stage in our early years, it is bound to happen as we approach old age and death.

No matter how old we are, in the later spiraling of stage six, the Mother becomes our only goal in life. The more empty our minds become, the more we might cry out like small children asking the Mother to come closer. At this point, a fire kindles within, and we develop an intense longing to be identified with the her, with the universal self.
2 Horses

Two Horses

There is a field, with two horses in it.

From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse. But if
you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something
quite amazing. Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose
that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down,
but has made a good home for him.

This alone is amazing.

If you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a
bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see
that it comes from the smaller horse in the field.

Attached to the horse's halter is a small bell. It lets the blind
friend know where the other horse is, so he can follow.

As you stand and watch these two horses, you'll see that the
horse with the bell is always checking on the blind horse, and
that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly
walk to where the other horse is, trusting that he will not be
led astray.

When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the barn
each evening, it stops occasionally and looks b ack, making sure
that the blind friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell.

Like the owners of these two horses, God does not throw us away
just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or
challenges.

He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help
us when we are in need.

Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little
ringing bell of those who God places in our lives.

Other times we are the guide horse, helping others to find their
way....

Good friends are like that... you may not always see them, but
you know they are always there.

Please listen for my bell and I'll listen for yours.

And remember...be kinder than necessary- everyone you meet is
fighting some kind of battle.

Live simply,
Love generously,
Care deeply,
Speak kindly....
Leave the rest to God

When thinking of Amma daily

JAI MA

When thinking of Amma daily i think of these words. Our first relationship in the world is through the mother. The earliest memory of any person is that of clinging to the mother's breast and looking into her love-filled eyes. The comfort and security, which the infant gains from this relationship, lasts with him all his life. In the mother is centred a whole world of tenderness, comfort and sustenance. To transfer this concept to a cosmic being was a natural step, which all the ancient cultures took. Therefore the concept of the divine as the mother is as old as life itself. Devi is the Divine Mother, the eternal womb of all creatures -- human, sub-human and animal. She cradles her children in her loving arms, suckles them and nurtures them with her infinite love. Wherever you see maternal love, in a bird or animal or human, know that to be the love of the Devi for her children, for she is the universal mother.

In Love and Light

Pritam

I have been writing down little prayers and thoughts I get when I'm meditating. I keep them saved on my alter under the foot a Ganesh. Tonight I gathered small pieces of wood and built a fire in a portable outdoor clay fireplace. I blessed it with incense and Archana. I then opened all the prayers and thoughts, reading them outloud with attention and awareness. I carefully placed it into to flame as a way for it to be taken to Amma and to be destroyed. It was giving and opening ceremony. I am going to make this a periodical ritual. It was a beautiful experience. Do any of you have some beautiful practices you would like to share?

Endless Blessings of Navaratri

I offer this to all my brothers and sisters who are the purest embodiment of divine love and light...

It is said that the Divine Mother in the form of Durga (She Who Protects Her Children and Vanquishes Enemies) fought the formidable demons of ignorance and egoism for nine days, and triumphed over them on the tenth day. Navaratri is a celebration of the victory of enlightenment over ignorance and culminates on the Vijaya Dashami, the tenth day known as Victory Day.

There are dozens of traditions from different faiths celebrating Navaratri. All of these traditions center on overcoming weakness, annihilating fear and negativity and receiving divine wisdom and liberation. A great Vedic teacher, Shri Swami Sivananda, describes the following:

"A young child is more familiar with the mother than the father because the mother is very kind, loving, tender and affectionate and looks after the needs of the child … the spiritual child also has an intimate relationship with the Divine Mother… Therefore, it behooves the aspirant to approach the Mother first, who then introduces her spiritual child to the father for the child's illumination. The Mother's Grace is boundless, Her mercy is unlimited; Her knowledge infinite. Her power is immeasurable; Her glory ineffable and Her splendor indescribable. She gives you material prosperity as well as spiritual freedom.

"Approach Her with an open heart, lay bare your heart to Her with frankness and humility, be as simple as a child. Kill ruthlessly the enemies that are egoism, cunningness, selfishness and crookedness. Make a total unreserved and ungrudging self-surrender to Her. Sing Her praise. Repeat Her name. Worship Her with faith and unflinching devotion. Perform special worship on Navaratri days. Navaratri is the most suitable occasion for doing intense spiritual practice."

This is an ideal time to purify our bodies, clean our homes and workplaces, and realign our spiritual goals. It is the tradition to honor the Divine Mother in some special daily worship during Navaratri.

In Amma....

Bala

Hi, I just joined the tribe. Amma is my joy and bliss. My name is Lesley and I live in Sacramento, California. I would love to meet other devotees of Ma. My life has been deeply transformed through the path of loving service. I seek to serve God through each person I meet. Let's talk.
Namaste,
Lesley

The Fourth Dimension by John Grau

It seems to me that there is a lack of clarity over just what the fourth dimension is. And also on what exactly the Fourth Dimension does. In-fact, on many web-pages that I visit, I find an array of documents that say that the fourth dimension is the fragment of the whole Emotional Plane which is known as the Astral Plane – which it is surely not.

The truth of the make-up of the fourth dimension is veiled in the ‘impossible structures’ of mathematical artists, such as M.C. Escher, and which is quite brilliantly depicted his ‘Day and Night’ illustration which is shown below.

Jai Ma! AMMA is almost here!

You Are Needed!!!

Come any time between 9 am and 5 pm, Saturday and/or Sunday.
All our gardens need tending, the temple needs to be cleaned and decorated,
the kitchen tent must be cleaned and prepared, etc., etc. The needs are
greater than normal - please join us as we joyfully prepare for the
Divine Mother's arrival.

On Saturday, join us for lunch (at the Main House at M.A. Center)
for our "Seva Fair." This will be a chance to find out about all the
volunteer opportunities available when Amma arrives. You can
also sign up for the seva to which you are drawn.

Amma will be here on June 6th--join us in preparing for her return!

If you have any questions, lemme know--otherwise, hope to see you all out there!!!
