Well I have to say that Charlie's was really good. I ordered some standard fried rice that had pork, beef, chicken and shrimp in it along with a bowl of shrimp won ton soup that was excellent. With that I had a crystal dumpling with pork and cilantro and I believe it was called Mu Lai with Pork and some pot stickers. For what I got the price was good and I ate my fill. Amber stopped by for a quick hello (hadn't seen her in two years) and Paul came by and had a good conversation about his profession and mine. I will definitely be returning for more Dim Sum in the future.
Paul and I believe we should make this a bigger gathering next time so if we can all rack our brains and calenders maybe sometime in mid March on a Saturday or later in the month? Post your responses here if interested.
I noticed while we were there that it gets busy around noon until around one-ish so either 11 when they open or one o'clock or later but not too much later. The good news is that the Dim Sum is cooked to order so no worries about getting old or stale Dim Sum like you could get at the traditional Dim Sum venues.

Re: Dim Sum Pt 2
Sun, February 22, 2009 - 7:44 PMI am definitely interested in going. I couldn't make it at 11 as a rule because I have a standing obligation with my mother. And on the last Saturday of each month, Sneakyparrrot and I have another standing obligation. Barring those and work stuff that may pop up, I will try to make it.

Mon, February 23, 2009 - 12:32 AMWell then let's plan on sometime at one or later on whatever day we do this... Since the last Saturday of the month is out that leaves either March 14th or 21st...
I'm flexible with either.

Tue, March 10, 2009 - 12:58 PMHey, I'll try to swing by. I've been meaning to go to Charlie's dim sum Saturday for eons ... anybody up for joining me for lunch or early dinner at Kumagaro some time? I gotta try their RAHMENZ (as a dear friend used to say). -

Re: Dim Sum Pt 2
Wed, March 11, 2009 - 12:54 PMAs a thirty year Kumagoro lover I would always be willing to go. I usually go right before work around three or four pm so if that sounds good to you then let me know what day and time you'd be going and something you'd be wearing that could distinguish yourself from other patrons and I'll meet you there. I've been eating ramen there since I first went when I was eight and I haven't stopped since...

Sat, March 14, 2009 - 10:38 AMOkay, so it's Streder, SP, and me then? Should be easier to get a table with four or less, anyway. I invited DW, but she's also doing empty bowl. -

Re: Dim Sum Pt 2
Sat, March 14, 2009 - 7:29 PMThe dim sum was goooooooood! Ginger chicken: dish of cooked chicken delicately flavored by a savory broth and covered by shredded ginger and a cup of perfectly-sticky white rice. I don't know what the other two were (step in, Streder) but the three pastry covered meatball thingies were well-flavored, but salty. The big soft bun full of BBQ pork was wonderful.
The menu was huge. I need to visit a few more times to expose myself to the full spectrum. -

Sat, March 14, 2009 - 9:52 PMI liked what I got, and only had to order three small things to get full, but next time I need to get some veggies! It's easy to OD on the fried stuff here. I would definitely go again. Good food, good company.
