If anyone would like information on Antigua, I grew up there and technically still live there. I will be home for the summer months. I love the place and would love to help anyone out who has questions on Antigua or Guatemala in general.

I'm planning to stop in Antigua for a while, anything I should avoid while I'm there? where are the best places to stay?? I plan to go to Tikal, Quetzaltenango, lago de atitlan and guat city while I'm there, any advice on what else I should do? Thanks! -

Sat, June 6, 2009 - 7:50 PMHey good luck on your trip. Just avoid the obvious risks, be street smart, pocket your maps as much as you can. No issues with you looking foreign as long as you walk the streets like you know the place and like you know were you are going ;)
There is a LOT of places to stay for ALL budgets. You won't have a problem finding on it all depends on what you are looking for (?). There's everything from your 5-star to little cozy family-owned hostels.
