Valhalla is very high in the mountains looking at it you might think that we were all back driving our own herds into the highlands during winter time. Luckily we sent forth a small group the day before we arrived to set up tents and claim a small portion of land in Williams name. The Lord using his very strong black stead moved much of the encampment, Myself accompanying him to help over see this placement. When we arrived we were placed in a great wooded area and then after the encampment was placed we made our way back to the main column to help the young women get to the spot, much like many Scot women they never needed any help! We arrived their with a few other borderers finally catching up from Ireland, not only did we have lord William and Da, and myself, but Alec (Antares), and Darby our welsh men arrived as well these two men were missed and were glad to ride again. Another man came to visit us on the march a Borderer by the Name of “Grey” Wauldie Scott, the man proved to be a fine Reiver helping deliver messages and enjoying the gambling, Another young Reiver we had no seen in a while joined back with us coming from Solway Firth, Geoff a handsome and ladies man rode long to join us in this small town.
The Ladies of the house hold prove yet again to triumph over the loss of the many men and came through. Aibhi, Alura, Brittany, Hennesy, Michelle, Ma, Lady Agnes, and Rosé line, These ladies are seemingly to be proving their worth, Many of them interacted with the people of this town showing our wears and food, Teaching and talking, Aibhi proved very helpful allowing the wee ones to view her making wool yarn from the great sheep ebay. All good ladies proved to do very well with their wears. Hennesy is a great cook and has proved it to the whole town she won the contest for cooking and all the judges did love her meal we even had two close friends the Dutch Gunner, and the Lord of Swindon come over and try to buy her from us but Hennesy would not go she told them “that clan matter most and would not be able to be bought”. Although we were up in the highlands the heat still proved to be a great foe, Striking our lady of the house who is with child she had to lay down and rest then she was offered a house not to far for her to stay with them the Lord joined her and were gone for the night but were ably to return the following day.
As good Reivers should we made our presence known especially to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth by not recognizing her when we were marching about she was saddened and sent her emissary over for a letter of Apology and we gladly gave her one so as not to be hanged by the gallows, We did visit Sunday mass that was held by a Irish monk who blessed us all and would like to be able to give the Reivers confession next time around.
This encampment proves to be a very good place for re supplying that is why the Lord wishes us stay at least another week for supplies and for recruiting. After another week here we shall be moving to lower country a place called Fair Oaks, but we still have one more week here in this highland town.
