Juno

Ellen Page stars in this hilarious and sarcastic take on teen pregnancy. Though there may not be enough reality in this film to take its topic seriously, the brilliant script allows the viewer to enjoy it nonetheless.

I Am Legend

Based on the graphic novel of the same name, I Am Legend is the ultimate apocalypse film of the time. Will Smith gives an excellent performance as the main character, especially while being the only man alive and no one to communicated with but his dog. The ending will leave you wanting more, while also pondering the outcome of scientific developments in the works today.

Sweeney Todd-The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Johnny Depp surprises everyone with his voice in this film, because it’s actually pretty good. The film version of the popular play proves to be a lot better than the stage performance in a lot of instances, even if the song list is shortened, as well. Editing also allows for a better understanding of the plot, which is ideal for a fair amount of viewers who may not be able to interpret this through lyrics very easily.

Tin Man

This mini-series is a modern representation of The Wizard of Oz. However, it is not the story of Dorothy, necessarily. Fans of Oz will be surprised at how much of this version of the story they don’t know. Don’t let this dissuade you from watching it, though. It has its quirks, but it’s an excellent series that keeps you guessing. The only downside is that its title hardly represents the whole of the story.
