This remains, for me, the only real solution. I think that this would add a lot to tribe in general. Follow it up with templates, and you'll end all the complaining about the design, and all the complaining about complainers also. In short, the community will become more friendly again, and less divided and hostile. I'd love to see that!

First, many thanks to Tribe for actually listening to the users -- the updates are a vast improvement.

Tabasco's idea is a brilliant one. It would solve a lot of problems.

Also, please let users customize the color scheme. All the white space is killing me.

Users should be able to control the layout just like they do on their profiles.

Friends should be more prominently positioned -- after all, that's why most of us are here. I would put them where the left-side menu is.

As for the menu: it eats up too much valuable real estate. I rarely use those buttons. Why not go to a tab-style format where all those menu items can go on a seprate page that you can access via a tab at the top of the page.

Same deal with the "my tribe/tribes/members/places/listings" bubbles -- they take up too much space at the top of the page and they look ugly. Please reduce them to small tabs at the top of the page.

Yeah, I don't really see the point in asking us to provide feedback on which homepage option is best when we all would want different layouts. I agree we should just be able to move the modules around ourselves.

I also vote for allowing us some ability to change the css, perhaps with a simple editor, on our home page and the profile page would be grand.

I'm not for a MySpace environment where some profiles are browser unfriendly to the point of freezing a connection.
I would just like the option to choose my own colors and possibly a tasteful opaque background. I would settle for colors.
We're a diverse group of creative people and the limited choices there inhibit our shininess.

If you are going to do anything, you got to do it right. Customization is the only way. Just one more vote for the right way.
