Hafiz strikes again

Drops upon this surface push ripples out
Away from the thoughts that begin this all
Touching everything along their way and in their wake
Until repelled by a shore, left to rebound and return to an eventual outward calm.

Conflicts abound under a placid surface
Brought to bear by currents past
That are swirling beauty to and fro
winds of thought that deceive peace,
belaying that which can not last

And through it all, a leaf has lost it's limb
To wander aimlessly through the air
Coming to rest upon a placid surface
Beginning again a new without any cares

Until another drop descends from heavans above
To disturb the still surface of the pond
Drowning thoughts in chaos, a leaf keeps moving on. ~ Hafiz
