I just heard (and briefly got to hold and attempt to play) a cumbus for the first time a week ago & absolutely fell in love with the instrument. I'd like to buy one and could use some recommendations.
The one I tried was wooden, but I note that that is way more expensive than the metal ones. How is the sound quality between them?
The one I tried had 12 strings, but I notice that there are other options?
What are some good websites I can order from? Or retailers in the Toledo, Ohio; SE Michigan; Indianapolis, Indiana; Chicago, Illinois; Cleveland, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio; Cinncinnati, Ohio; or Louisville, Kentucky area?
Any teachers in the Toledo, Ohio/SE Michigan area?
Any other general advice? I've never played another string instrument. My musical history involves 8 years of saxophone, beginner-level doumbek, and beginner/intermediate-level zils.
Thanks!
