<div>This was a fantastic film that discussed the topic of home birthing and how the practice of it was nearly eradicated during the 20s due to hospitals becoming more like businesses. It played in Blue Lake last weekend, now it's available on Netflix and should be out to purchase from their website in May. <div>My doula and awesome yoga trainer, Paula Scott, does a regular weekly prenatal yoga session at the Arcata Community Yoga Center on the Plaza from 5:15pm-6:30pm or therabouts. She also does a mama and baby session on Fridays once or twice a month. <div>There's a group of new moms that meets at the G Street entrance for a walk at the Arcata Marsh every wednesday at 11am. I haven't gone yet since it's a bit early for me, but I still may sometime! <div>When I first found out I was pregnant, the thing I dreaded most was giving birth. I've heard such horror stories. Thanks to my friend, Chrissy, though, my fears were relieved. The way she put it, our bodies are made to give birth. It hurts, but it's a good pain, something that is supposed to happen, not like a broken leg.
