Well folk, it's that time of year again- the time when people like us get all overly involved in planning this year's Love Camp in order to insure an even better camp than we had last year (as if that were possible)!!!!

I was speaking with Kymber yesterday, and we've sorta started kicking around the idea of moving our camp closer to the heart of things (such as under the trees near the Forest Stage, near where Pamela's camp was last year). There's three main reasons we were entertaining this idea- 1) Kymber is going to be carrying her child with her whenever she must walk to or from camp this year, 2) I have a knee that seriously needs replacing and another that needs surgery, and it's a pain in the ass to walk all that distance back and forth several times a day, and 3) many of our friends camp closer in, resulting in lots of people who don't want to walk out alone into the vast wilderness that is the parking lot when they wish to come visit for a nice cup of Planet Chai. Last year, I was wearing braces on both knees and walking with a cane, and managed to do so without much problem, but it sure would be nicer if camp were centrally located between the music, food, showers, river, and whatnot.

This is not to suggest that we don't understand the value of our current camp location- it's easy to find, it's isolated from the herds, and most importantly, it's been where people know to come look for us.

Since those of us who set up camp are usually on-site early enough to arrange whatever area we would like, I would like to examine whether or not it would be awkward to secure an area closer in, which is large enough to include the NoHum Earthdancers who camp with us.
