From what I understand there is a bee crew that kills bees on the hog farm prior to Earthdance to protect people from getting stung. I personally wrote Earthdance in hopes to spread awareness on this matter.
I was watching one little lone bee working hard in my yard and he reminded me of this issue.
Does anyone have ideas on other ways to handle the bees on the property without killing them? Maybe this year it won't be a "problem" :(
Lets hope and assume that the bee population on the Hog Farm is plentiful, and anyone that has suggestions put them out there and we can send a list of possible solutions to them:)

Tue, May 8, 2007 - 2:03 AMWell, for starters, people who are deathly allergic to bee stings should ALWAYS carry an Epi-pen . People should take responsibility for themselves- if you're allergic (and some of my dearest friends are), carry and Epi-pen (epinephrine injectable- "antidote" for the histamine response that causes such problems) or don't leave the concrete jungle of LA or NYC.
It's silly to expect people to interrupt he natural systems in place for our little love-fest..... "Kill the bees"????? Probably an issue of liability insurance cost, but still, it's crazy. -

I am just putting this out in hopes of giving them at least a handful of suggestions. Are there any?? Anyone that is allergic to bees is aware of the epi....the medics are aware of this as well, so if there are people there that don't realize a bee allergy until they get stung there they will get the help they need.

No offense, I guess its just that I am actually seeking solutions and so far people have been very quick to judge, or put down the idea in some way or another, NOt you Tom, and not on this tribe,,,,,which is where I am venting for LOVES sake :)
