Tribe Gathering <br/>Harmonic Emergence Return to Earth <br/> <br/>March, 20 2009 - December, 21 2012 <br/> <br/>If you have an interest in helping with any of the following needs please let us know, we need as many people as we can get and the way gatherings work we all help out somehow and that's how they turn out so beautiful. So how can YOU help? <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/>We Need: <br/>- Scouts <br/>Those to go in, scout out the area, and help decide on the BEST location for the gathering. (Considering water, parking, and environmental impact) <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/>- Foculizers (including a "Street Team") <br/>People to help recruit and coordinate the volunteers and supplies needed for the time we are out there and help inform family (old and new) about the gathering. <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/>- Medical personnel <br/>People who are doctors, EMTs, or nurses back home and also folks with some first aid experience, people good with radios, and at least one or two designated medical evac people (means you need an appropriate vehicle) for evacuating what we can't treat on site to the nearest facility. <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/>- Water crew <br/>People to set up and maintain water lines and filters for the safe distribution of drinking water to the gathering. (Need commitment on these supplies too) <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/>- Set-up and Clean-up <br/>People committed to being there before the gathering and after it for a few weeks to make sure we set it up right and (more importantly) leave no trace after we leave. <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/>- Kitchens <br/>This is self-explanatory, but we need to know that at least a few will be set up to feed everybody. This also requires some commitment from family that we have enough supplies to run these kitchens and feed the hundreds to 1000+ people that could show up. <br/> <br/> <br/>As we confirm enough supplies and volunteers are available to do this we can schedule a council for scouting the site and make a final decision by consensus on the ground and then announce it at least a few weeks before the gathering. By the time we hold a scouting council I would expect we at least have it narrowed down to where we can select a place for that council close to the forest we plan to be in. <br/> <br/> <br/>If for some reason we all reach consensus that we have not heard enough support to pull it off by the end of summer this year, then we suggest we plan for early next summer before nationals. We would love to have one this year if we can and there are a couple of things listed above that some of us already involved have experience with, but we must know that there will be enough others helping to pull this off, since none of us can do all these things at the same time (i.e. Medical evac or kitchen crew, but maybe not both at the same time). <div>Yeah so i'm going to be leaving colorado at the end of september and riding out to Arkansas, hopefully just in time to experience all the beautiful fall colors. I'll be heading south afterwards to meet up with friends and family in Louisiana. I thought I'd check and see if anyone else would want to join me for even part of the journey, or maybe just meet in Arkansas. I'm a pretty chill guy and i've done lots of long backpacking adventures. I'm mechanically inclined and i'll be carrying tools. This will be my first tour and i'm so excited! Drive slow in town. Follow Hwy. 21 right at <br/>light downtown, about a mile east on Hwy.64/21N. Hwy. 21 leaves Hwy.64 <br/>and goes north into the mountains. You will climb about 2000 ft to get <br/>to Fallsville on Hwy.21, it is crooked but a very good Hwy. Fallsville <br/>is 28 miles north of Clarksville. At Fallsville you will come to a <br/>fork in the Hwy. or a "Y" in the Hwy. This is the Jct. of Hwy.16 and <br/>there is the Fallsville Gas Station and tiny store. Very kind locals <br/>run the store and should be greeted warmly and with much love and <br/>gratitude. <br/> <br/> Here you will find lots of cops. The road into the site is to the <br/>right of the store 1 3/4 miles. It is the 2nd dirt road on the left. <br/>Just past an old cemetery. Just before the 2nd road you will see the <br/>"Six-Up" Kitchen on the right side of Hwy.21. Just past this police <br/>"Base Camp" turn left into the USFS road block/welcome home. I went in <br/>about 5:00pm and they only checked drivers license of drivers in <br/>vehicle and visual search for open containers. $75.00 fine for open <br/>containers. The Feds are being cool and pretty nice. I got through <br/>quickly. They do have drug dogs so be prepared. If you look like a <br/>problem, they will search you. <br/> <br/>A camp is a few hundred feet further. All buses and campers park there <br/>or where ever Fast Eddie says to park. The road down to the river is <br/>windy and steep, but a good road. You can park anywhere you can get <br/>all 4 tires off the road. Parking is tight and the road is lined with <br/>cars and hard to turn around on. If your vehicle is big, or not good <br/>on steep roads then park up top and shuttle/walk in. Road meets the <br/>main trail at the bottom but actually crosses the Buffalo River next <br/>to the family bridge. No one should cross the river. If you don't see <br/>parking, turn around carefully and go back up. I highly recommend <br/>parking up top. We need to keep the road open for supply, etc. <br/> <br/>There is an excellent Kitchen at the beginning of Main Trail called <br/>Crispy Critter Cafe. You can soak in the cool waters of the Buffalo <br/>about fifty yards away. The best kitchen so far is Shut-Up &amp; Eat It. <br/>Also I recommend the A.R.F kitchen Arkansas Rainbow Family from <br/>Fayetteville. I saw Tea Time, Kiddy-Village, PPK, Phat Camp and at <br/>least two dozen kitchens. There is lots of water but you should boil <br/>or filter it. There are springs everywhere down here and easy to tap <br/>for a kitchen. Main trail is level and wide, curving through a dense <br/>forest along the Buffalo valley for a couple of miles. <br/> <br/>This is a true forest gathering. No meadows being found nearby. <br/>However it is a very beautiful and wild place in the wilderness of the <br/>upper headwaters of the Buffalo. Lots of swimming and plenty of <br/>camping room, it's just deep forest and you must be prepared for the <br/>poison ivy and slippery spots along the trails. No big hills except on <br/>the road in. The road was improved with a bulldozer and trucks of <br/>gravel by the USFS just for the family. Main trail is a little muddy <br/>but even after a huge rain today, about 2 inches of rain fell in about <br/>an hour, the trail was still easy to negotiate, even in the dark. One <br/>thing about all the rain and the dense forest, there is Fox-Fire <br/>everywhere. (Phosphorescent wood that glows in the dark). <br/> <br/>Bring small flashlights and batteries, candles, torches, etc. The <br/>forest is very dark at night. Send food stuff, tobacco, and kind <br/>energy. We drove out at about 1:30am and didn't see one single USFS or <br/>Cop anywhere. <br/> <br/>Ignore all rumors of cancellation and "alternate sites". I lived in North Carolina for many years, where Rainbow was very active and hip, but I cannot go there now. I wonder if anyone here does ceremonies and celebrations, like communal potlucks, at a cozy house or cabin, with mamas and papas and kiddos and dogs, drums and guitars, boxes of wine and ganja, candles and a bonfire, table heavy with food and zuzus brought by the partiers?
