August 31st was the 100 birthday of the great Armenian writer William Saroyan. The film version of his play "The Time of Your Life" is a classic. If you have not seen it, please do. James Cagney brought it to the screen and it also stars his talented and lovely sister Jean Cagney. My friend in Armenia sent me an e-mail about Saroyan today and I also learned that music composer Ross Bagdasarian was his cousin and that together they wrote the class pop song "Come On A My House" which was a great hit for Rosemary Clooney.
