(gotta admit, I like the Captain and Tenille's version better - but they never did it with that much style LOL!)
As for the Rakkasah clip - I'd love to see her do that solo for 'So you think you can dance'. Reminds me why bellydancers don't do fan kicks. Awesome lyrical costume though and totally FAB hair...drool....

I'm pretty sure, I look just about like that when I dance and that's why only my children have ever seen me. Wow, yeah, I think someone somehow photoshopped someone else onto me dancing in my room while I clean.
It looks like she tried very hard to merge bellydance and j-pop videos, but those moves in J-pop are deceptively hard. I liked it. It made me happy and want to be a bunny today. I think I'll watch every Hinoi Team video I can find.

Thu, July 16, 2009 - 6:26 PMThis was not Rakkasah East, but Rakkasah's Spring Caravan. It is billed as a fusion festival, though frankly I saw as much straight cabaret as fusion. I did see traces of belly dance in her performance. I've received a few comments about my Spring Caravan performance not being very bellydancey as well. Although, I find it interesting that she borrowed choreography for that last song from one of the worst dancers I've ever seen. That could have made her dance seem that much worse to me.
