I don't like the stiff way she carries her arms, but as for the rest of her performance...I dunno, I kind of liked it. Probably because of the new Djinn song she is dancing to.

I like it, for the most part, as well. The only thing that bugs me is how high her shoulders stay the entire performance; it makes her look out of proportion, somehow....

She's certainly not the worst of the worst, but neither was I impressed - at all. She has the basic movements down and those basic movements are fairly crisp, but the rest of her was sloppy, unisolated and almost... incomplete. I get the feeling she either (a) didn't have the skill level necessary for what she wanted to do, (b) didn't have the time necessary to prepare, or (c) all of the above.

Also, her upper body movements were entirely shoulder driven and that made me cringe, a LOT. When she was doing simple chest pops with her hands on her hips, she looked like she was a chicken trying to flap her wings. And speaking of shoulders... she needs to roll hers back and set them down more, because her posture is looking ever so slightly hunched forward.

The music kicked ASS, though. The problem is... it really outshone her dancing! Give her another couple of years, though, and a really great teacher and she could be something.

I agree with Amber. I think she might be a student at BellyQueen studio, and this was one of their "Student Nite" hafla's. The basics were good, but she looked like she might have just recently learned the popping aspect of the performance and it needs a little more time to learn how to control. It's not terrible and I'd like to see her try this choreo again with a little more experience under her belt.

While Kaeshi's performance was more polished, the dance looked more like hip-hop than belly dance to me.
