South Boundary Lake Reflections
Oil on canvas, 27" x 36"
I first saw this view in June of 1955. My parents had just purchased and moved our family into an abandoned one-room school house in the Maxwell Settlement, near Bancroft, Ontario as a home for me and my 3 sisters and 4 brothers. This is the scene from directly in front of the building, across a country road. It has changed very little since then. I am now the caretaker of the schoolhouse (it's a family retreat now) and will eventually inherit it from my mother. This is the 7th in my series of oil on canvas paintings titled 'My Landscapes'.
