Weird man. So what are you planning to with this. If you are going to, say wrap staffs with the stuff, you definitely need to get the rubber backing off as, if it rubber, will melt all over you. I don't know of any rubber product that will not melt.. Any kind of rubber or electrical tape in a burn takes forever to heal and will be just nasty. You can get fairly cheap new kevlar from Dube.com, bearclawmanufacturing.com or trickconcepts.com if this doesn't work. Give us a little more info. What is the kevlar like on hose? Picture? Can you get all the rubber off easily? Trust me, you don't want even the tiniest amount of rubber on those wicks if you set them on fire.

      Daniel,
      Thanks man..
I did 6 or 7 different searches and Dube never came up,,
Ok,,yup it is cheap enough to just buy outright.
I'm making Poi and I kinda thought flaming rubber was a bad idea, but I was told used fire hose would work.
      Thanks again

Well, I have been spinning fire for about 7 years and I can honestly say the subject of a fire house has never come up. I guess most of us wouldn't have access to one. Not the kind of thing you see at Goodwill or yard sales. With poi, the danger would be having tiny flaming death balls of burning rubber hit your audience. Spend the 20 bucks or so and get you some. It would be worth it just for the peace of mind. Use the kevlar hose to make some sort of fire sculpture. Unifire has a flaming heart that we use at weddings and such. Her is the link www.dube.com
Company owned by Brian Dube who was a reknowned juggler. They are known for quality. I bought my juggling torches and knives and shitloads of kevlar from them over the years. They are on the east coast too so there is a quicker turnaround for stuff ordered. Cool. We will have some spin jams at the house here in the pirate cove and I look forward to seeing you there.
