Anyone have experience with - or patients who've had success with - gingko biloba for female sexual dysfunction brought on by taking selective seratonin reuptake inhibitors? I found a few studies online that say it's been found to reverse the dysfunction.

Re: ginkgo for sexual dysfunction
Mon, August 13, 2007 - 11:25 PMGinkgo is a vasodilator (which woud lead to more blood flowing into areas such as genitalia and cardiac muscle) and it's also a nervine (read: anxiety dispeller)...I could see how both of these would be helpful in treating sexual dysfunction brought on by SSRI's. It could also depend on the cause(s)/reasons for taking the SSRI's in the first place as to whether or not ginkgo would be an effective use. But really it's cheap enough, and generally safe and non-interactive with such things. Good luck
