Cuurently there is a bill on the docket in New Mexico to ban aspartmae - an artificial sweetener known to cause up to 92 different health problems as well as cancer. There is now a worldwide effort to this aim and the first step is the bill in New Mexico. If that is passed it will set a precedent. The purpose of this email is to get the information out to all of you that this is happening.

If you personally are concerned about this being in our food and medicine and want to see it gone, or know anyone who is, you can call or write the House at the New Mexico legislature - here is the alpha list, the VIP who are going to be voting on this - legis.state.nm.us/lcs/lcsdo...List06.PDF It would be especially helpful to send them the stories of people who have become sick and recovered from stopping all use - and most importantly, if you know someone who LIVES IN NEW MEXICO. :)

One of my colleagues at Bastyr is personally involved in a project here in Washington called "Life is Sweet" that is directed at providing diabetics with healthier food choices - since the predominant advice given to the majority of diabetics these days is to subsititue sugar with artificial sweeteners and the widest used right now is aspartame.

There is no safe dose, and neurosurgeon Russell
Blaylock, M.D., author of Excitotoxins: The Taste

reactions to aspartame are not allergic but toxic
like arsenic and cyanide. He has an excellent

The Ramazzini Study in Italy shows aspartame to
be a multipotential carcinogen which confirms
FDA's original findings. And yes, aspartame
breaks down to DKP, a brain tumor agent, that
triggered brain tumors in original studies.

formaldehyde converted from the free methyl
alcohol embalms living tissue. It damages DNA.

Dr. Adrian Gross, the late FDA Toxicologist,
told Congress that an allowable daily dose
should have been able to be set since aspartame
without a shadow of a doubt triggers brain tumors
and brain cancer. All these reports and one of
the three congressional hearings are on the web sites mentioned.

Incidentally, the only person I know of that
drank as many as 17 diet drinks a day was in a
coma at the Mayo Clinic. There is no safe dose!
