Re: Aunt Bea.......
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 2:54 PMI've used rubbing alcohol........works pretty good. And I've used wax paper. Usually doing the wax paper first........then the rubbing alcohol.
Turn the iron on to a medium setting. Set the iron on wax paper - wax side down - move the iron back and forth on the paper to loosen the fuse goo. Turn iron off to cool and take a wash cloth or towel and put rubbing alcohol on cloth and rub onto iron where goo is until goo is removed.
Let us know what works. -

Re: Aunt Bea.......
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 5:55 PMI sure the hell ain't Aunti Bea B but have you tried NOT getting fusing goo on your iron to start with?
Fusing Goo Remover might worki Also know as Ol' Unkle Snert's Tonsil Cleaner. (It's good for anything, and then some.)
Umm, what is fusing goo and does it hurt? -

Re: Aunt Bea.......
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 6:03 PMIf you want to have some fun while trying the "ironing waxed paper" method of cleaning your iron, just grate some crayons and put between 2 sheets of waxed paper, then iron (just be sure not to let any of the crayon melt out the sides).
My Grandma always used to do that with us when we were wee ones...to this day, I love the smell of melting Crayolas. -
