Re: stephanie
Thu, October 26, 2006 - 10:05 AMIn shops in Philadelphia that sell primarily cheesesteaks, there is defined protocol for ordering a cheesesteak, consisting of the desired cheese and whether fried onions will ("wit") or will not ("witout") be added. For example, "I'd like a provolone wit," is an order for a cheesesteak with provolone cheese and fried onions on top.[8] Orders for additional toppings, such as sauteed mushrooms or peppers, are usually added at the end, e.g. "I'd like an American witout and peppers."
Many Philadelphia-area shops will refuse or delay service to customers who order incorrectly. Shops that sell cheesesteaks in addition to other items, such as pizza shops, lunch trucks or delis, or those outside of the Philadelphia area, usually do not follow this etiquette. -

Thu, October 26, 2006 - 9:57 AMHow's motherhood treating you so far? Any rising fears about raising the little one? -

Re: stephanie
Thu, October 26, 2006 - 5:56 PMoh. my. god.
motherhood is both the scariest and happiest part of my life ... abigail is perfectly dreamy. she's very healthy and she seems like a very content baby. she's 9 weeks tomorrow, so she's been smiling giant smiles, cooing and meowing like a kitten. she's just started what i can only describe as a baby shout, like, "hey! pay attention to me!" ... she did it twice today, once when i was holding her but talking to ari and another time when i was doing the dishes. she's getting to be a big girl far too quickly ... she was just an itty bitty baby 9 weeks ago, now she can hold her head up all by herself.
*sigh*
i'll definitely be that mother who cries when she drops her kid off at school for the first time.
i can't think too far into the future ... i want to cherish the baby time we have right now. i just hope she's a happy & healthy kid with a great sense of humor and a love of books & music. -
