Is Peanut butter bad for cats? Pye and I just discovered his liking for peanut butter. Like, he really likes it. A lot. I make a sandwich and he's there waiting for some. I've only given him a tiny bit here and there, but I wanted to make sure it was okay before I did anymore.

Thu, May 31, 2007 - 6:45 AMThe only thing is maybe the oil and sugar?
I learned my lesson with Jax.. I only feed Abby cat food.. no people food (beyond a treat of super-skim milk once in a while) -

Re: Hey!
Thu, May 31, 2007 - 7:53 AMSee - and since the recall I am super paranoid of cat food. Kiko's health didn't start deteriorating until he was an indoor cat and dependent on cat food. Before that, he caught and mice and birds and who knows what else and then had his dry food at home for stability and he was really healthy.
Well - I suppose if I only do a tiny bit of pnut butter on my finger occasionally, it will be okay. -

Re: Hey!
Thu, May 31, 2007 - 10:11 AMI am too.. Jax's health deteriorated in February and he was put down on 2/19.. then the pet food recall.
How old is Kiko?
All cats are different. My sister has a Maine Coon and he only eats dry.. everything else binds him up or gives him the squirts.. Now her feral cat that is now pretty much indoors.. eats everything (banana popsicles.. garbage if you'd let her).. nothing bothers her. -

Thu, May 31, 2007 - 1:14 PMI'm sorry Rae.. between dead pets, family members, friends family.. I'm confusing everyone.
Pye isn't an old man. Eight is young. My co-workers have cats 16 & 20 years old. -

Re: Hey!
Thu, May 31, 2007 - 1:19 PMYeah, but according to the chart in the vet's office, 8 is like 50 for us, so it's when you need to start watching for things.
He still acts like a kitten, though.
