How Does Your Sun/Moon Sign Relate to Dance?

My sun and moon signs:

Sun in Gemini, 10th house – My sun being in the 10th house gives me a need to shine in the public realm. What could be a better placement for a dancer?? My dance is my message and Gemini wants communication and feedback for that communication in the worst way, so I’m at my best when I have a message (my dance) and a recipient for that message (my audience). I also have Gemini energy and adaptability, two great things for dancers to have.

Moon in Leo, 11th house – Leo moon. Typical Leo pride and generosity. I take a great deal of pride in my dance and love to share it with others, either by performing, or by teaching, whether that’s a formal class type setting or just helping others learn the details. I have to find my place to lie in the sun, and what better place than on a stage?? Leo signifies artistic and creative originality, confidence and expression.

    Sun in cancer, 10th house- Being a cancer makes me more of an emointial dancer. I have to feel the music or else I'm not as good. Since i am a cancer, i pick up on other people's feelings. So, when i'm dancing I can connected with the audience really well. The only bad part about this is when the audience is not very open minded or "into it" It can effect my dancing. So, that why when I teach I always talk about putting emointion in the dance and having that connection.

    Moon in saggitarius, 3rd house- Having that spark and fire in me helps alot with dance. Since alot of people say that cancer is shy and timid, my saggitarius moon opens my mind to new things and gives me the balls to do stuff that a typical cancer wouldn't do. I have a saggitarius friend/dancer and we did a dance that was funky and unusal. It suited both our qualities and strong points. I can also pick up on things really fast, If you show it to me I can do it! It also give me the drive and dedacation to get things done.

    Rising in libra, 1st house- I know that this is not one of the questions but, I know that it is a big influence on me. Like the symbol, I in need balance in my dancing. I need to have it where there is enough excitment to get the audience going but, also enough passion for me to feel the dance. Bad part about it is that I have the hardest time making decisions. Cause the dance has to be perfect for me and trying to make a decision on where to put things is hard.

    Well I'm a bellydancer wannabe... so I don't have a style yet. But I tend to like or would like to dance to the beat of the drums, and other times I feel like going for sexy moves with a veil and ondulations. Those are my Sun/Moon, and my rising is in Cancer. Could somebody try to interpretate it for me?

    Sun is in 27 Degrees Gemini.

      So, I posted this in the rising sign thread, but it was probably more appropriate here.
      (Sorry for the repeat.)

      I'm new to this tribe- I'm Chandrika...I've been dancing tribal style for 5 years and into Astrology for 20 years. I'm a Libra Sun, Cancer Rising, Capricorn Moon with Mercury and Venus in Scorpio. Midheaven is Pisces.

      I'm finding it very interesting the amount of water so far among the dancers on this thread.

      Water is, to me, irrevokably related to the dance, the ebb and the flow.

      Belly dance- yes, Cancer rules the belly and breasts. Full, ripe, powerful mother. Emotionally sensitive, delicate and abundant. Very connected to the moon and, again, Mama Ocean's dance.

      Scorpio- seductress, dark, mysterious, revelation, transformation, telling an ancient story, rising from the ashes, sexual power and prowess, the darker side of the dance- the underground, the code, the unspoken language of the mystery.

      Pisces is about the subconsious, the other-worldly, the ocean tides, the depths, the veils, illusion, trancendence and the alternate persona, and flow in the body in the form of dance. Often Pisces is associated directly with dance.

      I wonder how many dancers have predominance in water?
      How interesting it would be to collect birthdata from the great dancers out there now- there are SO many!

      Gemini I also associate with dance somewhat....(air sign). The quick energy and quick mind can actualize it in the body as soon as it can perceive/conceive it. Manually and physically as well as mentally dexterous and flexible. Take a workshop w/ Rachel Brice if ya don't believe me!

      Aries and Leo also play into the dance- fire, but connected to the dance- Aries is the warrior, strong capable, quick and fierce. Leo is about stage prescence, and the beauty and amazing capacities of physical excellence that the body can manifest.

        Hi, i just found this site and this blog...this is fascinating...as i see that many dancers have cancer in their chart (and astrologers are often aquarius)...when i found belly dance, i felt i could not live without it and my sun is in cancer...anyway my chart is: rising libra (arts/dance, i am also a singer of world music), moon in aquarius, which is the mental part, as i am also studying natural medicine and transpersonal psychology and spirituality; mars and mercury in leo...which makes me a bit schizophrenic because my cancer is shy but my leo wants to be on stage, and my body must move! it is so great to find this tribe!

    My sun is in the 10th house too! It surprised me to see so many others with the same placement.
    I had an Astrologer tell me that the sun in the 10th was the opportunity for famousness or infamy.
    Maybe its a mark of the desire to be in the public eye.

    I am an Aries, Cancer, Cancer
    I believe in drilling, hard work, and correct execution of moves.
    I loathe classes where more talking than dance happens.
    All of that can safely be attributed to Aries :)
    Not sure if my astrology has influenced my style of dance.
