believe that this stuff is really true. i mean you can really take advantage of what is going on in your life via the energy of the planets. this isn't some whacky shit but some real science. i feel lucky to understand it really. i mean it blows my mind away. of course they say that venus rules the secret sciences and luckily with such a strong venus i am attracted to them. well anyhoot how about some opinions about the venus on the ascendant or at the mc what is your take on that?

Re: well i have tested the theories of astrocartography partially and i
Mon, June 18, 2007 - 11:45 PMHi Raja, have been in astrology for over thirty years, but I never heard that said about Venus. (So who are "they"?) I guess, if she rules your 8th or 12th house, there might be something in it, if you put her on the AC or MC - ritual magic, see 6th. For the rest, her principle is that of attraction in any way, shape or form.

Fri, June 29, 2007 - 2:21 PMRaja:
There are some secret societies which focus on Venus for some reason. Often they are related to Rosicrucians, Free Masons, Knights Templar, etc.. Wicca also has an implied preference for Venus at times, because of it's emphasis on Godesses.
The things I am saying here are somewhat arbitrary, and I half expect to hear shouts of protest or "corrections" from the Wiccan community...but Venus does have a way of popping up in various ways in archaic, pagan or alternative religions who's members often enjoy being shadowy or mysterious. Being that Venus is such a bright object, it actually competes for our attention with the sun and moon...thus it becomes an alternative object of worship for some. And of course, Venus DOES have a mysterious side which becomes very obvious in signs like Scorpio and Pisces. I have Venus in Pisces, and I have spent years reading up on secret societies. Venus is often what makes us social, so Venus placed in such a way can make a person choose to associate with groups which are shadowy in some way.
I think it would be wrong to say that Venus RULES secret sciences...but in some way it may be GUILTY BY ASSOCIATION. Such secret sciences are often studied by people because of the simple mystique it gives to the person studying it...so their Venus may play a role in choosing their academia. Being mysterious is something that Venus (personified as a Goddess) enjoys from time to time. Don't most women (ruled by Venus) frequently enjoy being mysterious as a way of contributing to the mating-game? People often choose academic directions based on what types of people they like to associate with, or the environment it exposes them to (which is a very Venusian thing). Venus is about walking the walk, and sort of about talking the talk. Venus rules style, and if being creepy and secretive is your style, you'll gravitate to the things which enable that lifestyle for you.
I am rambling now, so I give up! ;-)
Hope this was useful.

Re: well i have tested the theories of astrocartography partially and i
Sun, July 1, 2007 - 2:07 PMwell venus is associated with the secret sciences completely in vedic astrology. actually venus in vedic astrology is the only planet that can resuscitate the dead. meaning that the person who is ruled by venus and is understanding of the secret sciences can eventually gain enough knowledge to resucscitate the dead. this may give insight to how jesus christ was able to do such an act.

Re: well i have tested the theories of astrocartography partially and i
Sat, July 7, 2007 - 8:40 AMIs that so?
Well, that's interesting and I have to give that a fair chance, I guess...because I actually find that my Vedic chart gives me better predictions than a western chart! I have Rahu in the 2nd House. In Western astrology it's supposedly about my self-worth and money and possessions...but in Vedic it 's supposedly about home and family environment. And then I have Ketu in the in 8th, of course. Do you have any idea what these nodal placements could mean? My Moon exactly squares my nodal axis.

Sat, July 21, 2007 - 8:19 AMRaja,
You use sidereal I am taking I have venus as my ascending sign and Venus is in the second house I think with that house system.
it makes sense because when I go into meditation sometimes such things past by as thoughts and I thought it was past life memories.

Wed, July 25, 2007 - 2:57 AMKate, where was your head with this post? Sidereal refers to a different zodiac, not to a house system. And you have either Taurus or Libra on the AC, not Venus as an ascending sign. Come on, girl, I know you can do better! Clear language promotes better understanding. -

Re: well i have tested the theories of astrocartography partially and i
Sun, October 7, 2007 - 3:46 PMno, sidereal is the same as saying you are using a vedic ayanamsa, but you may still use a western house system or vedic house system. that is only the graphical interface. basically sidereal or vedic ayanamsa means the same thing. they both beleve that the belt of stars is fixed so therefore you get better understanding of planetary postions.

Re: well i have tested the theories of astrocartography partially and i
Sun, October 7, 2007 - 3:48 PMif you are using sidereal venus would have to be in the second house using tropical (western). so depending on which ayanamsa (sidereal or tropical) then you would determine this. venus in the 1st def. will give you an inclination towards the secretive sciences, no doubt.

Re: well i have tested the theories of astrocartography partially and i
Sun, October 7, 2007 - 3:56 PMwell that is very interesting as those societies were very higher minded and believed in the reincarnation of the soul and also delved into greatly the mystical sciences etc. also i just saw a great documentary on google about the freemasons. it appears that washingon d.c has the most zodian signs located in its capitol sign more so than any other capital in the world. tell me why there would be zodiac signs carved throughout the whole city. some are carved inwardly, some are reliefs, and some are on statues in washington dc. -

Re: well i have tested the theories of astrocartography partially and i
Fri, January 11, 2008 - 2:43 AMVenus makes complete sense... If you study its rhythm. And it is Venus that is related towards the 5 elements. I guess it is all a matter of perspective. Morning Star, Evening Star.... Just think how many people wished on it... thinking it was the first star in the sky.
Venus on the MC....
That tells me that your good at attracting what you want. My sister has Venus conjunct her MC... Pretty much she has this natural sense of design, and art. Knows how to get her way through persuasion.
I got Venus in Taurus conjunct North Node/9th house cusp... Any ideas?
