I wonder if anyone ever found the birth time for author Jerzy Kosinski, author of ’Being There’ (one of my favorite movies of all time, btw.)

He was born June 14, 1933 in Lodz, Poland, making him Sun Gemini, Moon Pisces. But I’d love to put everything in perspective via houses.

Has anyone ever seen a time for him?

It is the chart of Cpatain Bligh.

I don't know the source f the time of birth given by astro-themes, bt he was described as bering 'short and thick-set.'

Note the Sun square Pluto and the very wide - maybe, too wide - Mars sqwuare Saturn.

He was seen as an ogre at the time, a slave-driver, who drove his crew to death and levied harsh punishments, often involving death, for very little. anathony Hopkins certainly did well to portray a character who was tyrannical because of possible inner doubts abou his strenght and authority. The chart did oblige me by showing a Mars square Saturn, but...it is still so wide...

The Sun square Pluto suggests how he might have had the resources to sale a raft home over distances of over 3 000 miles at sea. He fed his crew on pigeion's blood.

However, I have read that in fact as a commander, whilst possessing a bad temper and swearing a lot, he was actually - in fact - too easy-going as a commnader, and it was this that lead to his downfall, and he was simply slandered by his old friend, Fletcher Christian.

Well? Any thoughts?

The Real Dracula

Actually, I fully intend to get on he Dracula ale here in he comng weeks. I want to post the chart opf Bram Soker as well as looking at som actors who have played Dracula, whilst asking why it is the Coun is still as undead as ever.

But first...quick look at the original source that first motivated Bram Stoker to write.

The picture you see gracing this tribe is that of Vlad Tepes. As you will read from the info I have quoted here, he was a nasty piece of work.
Much as I enjoy a good gothic with a good undead villain, I do not approve of dictators, particualry not of sadistic ones.

But take a look at his features. A distinctive face with high cheekbones, protruding eyes and an underlip the hints well at the pathological cruelty for which he was so famous. What astrology would you assign to him? He was said to have been born in early Winter, but that could comfortably mean most of November too.

'Romania, 1456. As the condemned struggles, the executioner pushes the stake inside his body. With a brutal, but very quick move, the stake is inserted in such a way as not to kill; it is designed to punish, invoke terror and much, much later, death. It has been reported that sometimes it would take several days for the person to die, with the wooden stake inserted in the pelvis (or the posterior) area and its top touching the back of the spinal cord or exiting the mouth. We are in Wallachia [1] and this is the punishment thieves, murderers, even adulterous wives, and any other criminals receive in the land of Vlad Tepes [2] , a.k.a. Dracula [3] .

Born at the end of 1431 in Sighisoara, Vlad Tepes III Dracula spent his early years by his father's side, in the company of his two brothers, Mircea and Radu. After leaving Transylvania and seizing the Wallachian throne in 1436, their father began a successful six-year reign. Sadly, in 1442, as the Turkish forces invaded Transylvania, Vlad II Dracul was exiled from the throne and country by the superior power Hungary, on the basis of not siding with them at the time of a previous crisis. The following year, in 1443, Vlad II changed his position and decided to abandon his alliances with the Hungarians and prove his loyalty to the Turkish Sultan. As a vassal nation, he had to pay a tribute, but even more important, send his two younger sons to Constantinople and Adrianople as "official" hostages, for education in the spirit of loyalty and dedication for the Sultan [4] (1444-1448). Dracula was about 13 at this time.

In 1447, after a period of war with Hungary, Vlad II and Dracula's older brother, Mircea were killed while in battle, murdered, possibly buried alive, by Hungarian assassins. What followed, was a period of chaos and controlled rule of Wallachia by the Hungarian power, with puppet kings, or various boyars [5] leading the region. As a counter measure, the Turkish rule freed Dracula, and gave him an army in order to take control of the now corrupt Wallachia. Regaining the power, he kept the throne for only two months, until he was, just like his father, forced to flee to Moldavia [6] . Next, history repeated itself, and Dracula decided to abandon his ties with the Turks and sought help from the Hungarian king. So, in 1456, he successfully took the throne again, and was crowned Prince of Wallachia. What followed, was a reign of power, but above all, justice. His leadership, strong, uncorrupted, created unprecedented unification in the spirit of the Romanian people, a force and resistance against the influence of foreign nations. Until 1462, he ruled with extreme devotion, instituting his infamous methods of execution and punishment such as crude torture and more than often impalement. His nickname is derived from this method of establishing order in the land. At this time, numerous legends and folk tales appeared, describing his atrocities, with an estimated 40,000 to 100,000 people executed over his six year reign.

From his capital at Tirgoviste, near today's Bucharest, Dracula started a campaign to drive the Turkish forces below the Danube. In his efforts, he reached that zone, only to find an army three times larger than his waiting to attack. A massive blood-bath followed, in which about 20,000 Turks were impaled in the name of Dracula and freedom for the Romanian people. The foreign forces retreated, but not before reinforcements were sent, lead by Dracula's younger brother, now 17, Radu. A series of battles emerged, with no clear winner, but some of which proved Radu's sole allegiance to the Islam Nation. The battle grounds extended to the north and finally reached Dracula's castle at Poienari. The Turks seized the castle, and Dracula's wife committed suicide to prevent having to surrender herself to the invaders. Dracula himself managed to escape through a supposed secret pathway or corridor, below the mountains and into Transylvania. There are variations to the story, as to the location of the famed suicide, the circumstances, and battle, and the name of Dracula's wife.

Once in Transylvania, Dracula sought help, once again, from the Hungarian king, then Matthias Corvinus. Instead of help, the king imprisoned Vlad; after at least 4 years in prison, he slowly recovered and created new alliances through family ties in the Hungarian aristocracy and the royal family. There he remained for 12 years. In the meantime, in Transylvania, his brother, now known as Radu the Handsome, ruled the lands for a brief period of time, after which he mysteriously died. Seeing this as an only chance to regain power, Dracula left Hungary and invaded Wallachia for the third and final time. He would rule for a matter of weeks only.

To retaliate, the Turks sent an army which pushed as far as Bucharest. In battle, while fighting, Dracula was killed, possibly by one of his own men. Although this is not a fact, his death in 1476 could have been an act of assassination or a simple accident as some of the chronicles of the times say. Decapitated, the body remained in Romania, while his head was sent to Constantinople as proof of his death and the ultimate Turkish victory. He was buried at Snagov, in a small rural monastery situated on a remote island'

I do understand this guy is condsidered to be one of the Great Hopes in US politics at the moment.

If his Jupiter is a strong as his chart is reckoned to be, then he probably will be, as according to Gauquelin, Jupiter 'rules' politicians as well as actors. Unlike the case of the Saturnian politican, there is usually no downfall. You might not like, however, what Gauquelin has to say about Jupiter and Jupiterians - not quite so much the benefic, we could say.

Thatcher had an angular Saturn as well as an angular moon (the moon also features for politicians, though usually it is not quite as power-driven as the Jupiterain, according to Gauquelin). In the end, she did meet her downfall, through her own party, but whilst hated for over a decade for her Draconian measures in the UK, she certainly still had a run her her money before the final downfall came. (Her moon, incidenally, was in dictatorial Leo, whilst her rising Saturn was in fixed Scorpio.)

Anyway, that is enough about Thatcher. What about this Barack (this word, incidentally, means 'peach' in Hungarian, which creates some fairly weird associations in my mind) that intrigues you? Do tell us more.

Hillary Clinton's chart

I mean, scorpio rising makes great sense to me, but the reason for concluding that to be her birthtime are a little vague, to say the least.

Anyway... regardless, Clinton has a very strongly Scorpion chart.

His Moon could have been Pisces if he had been born close to midnight. There is more gen on his life and links to check out here, but remember that he dies young at 25 of TB and had ben consumpive from the age of 7. He drew in black and white inks for the most part and, the subject mater often being decadent and taboo.

A doctor who got killed

This is the chart of one of my heroes. As I don't have a time of birth, I've set it for twelve o'clock noon and then put it in Solar Sign Houses.
Theoretically, you should be able to read his life story as in a timed chart, especially with Solar Arc progressions. (I've lately experimented a lot with this and had great results.)

Born as the son of a Jewish banker in Silesia, he got baptized together with his whole family at age 6.
Studied medicine in Berlin, became a doctor in 1864, and then left for Turkey, where he took office with the Ottoman government in 1870, after learning Turkish, Albanian and Greek (next to the German, English, French and Latin he already spoke/read/wrote fluently.
About five years later (1875, age 33), he went to Egypt, where he took on a position as medical advisor to the Egyptian government. Somewhere during this time, he converted to Islam and changed his name.
Married an Egyptian 'princess' (which title has a different meaning than in our culture), who died after giving birth to their only daughter.
In 1878, he took office with the British, as governor of the then Central African Province, roughly the area of modern day Sudan.
He lived as the only white person among the indigenous tribes of Equatoria, setting up an administration, studying local dialects, fauna, flora and weather patterns, meanwhile trying to fight off Arab slave traders, who saw his province as their hunting grounds.
Looking for support with money and weapons, he got fobbed off by the British, Belgians and Germans, none of whom had any economical interest in the area.
Eventually, a Scottish brewer set up an expedition, lead by H.M. Stanley. Because of Stanley's heroic ambitions, 800 of the 1200 participants died on the way. Once arrived at my hero's last stronghold on the shores of Lake Albert (in April 1888), Stanley abducted him in the summer of 1889, to take his human trophy back to England and show him off in the salons of London. But the hero refused to leave his people and ended up in a hospital in Zanzibar, after a bad fall that left him half deaf - he was already almost blind. Stanley gave up and returned to Europe without him.
My hero then took a position with the German East Africa Company and tried to make his way back to Equatoria. In mid October 1892, a boat capsized and he lost his entire collection of botanical specimens. On October 28, 1892, he was murdered by an assassin the slave traders had hired to get rid of this uncomfortable anti-slavery activist. The murderer was caught and confessed to decapitating him, but the body was never found.
Tomorrow, he'd be 166 years old. Happy Birthday, Uncle Eddie!

I have asked this question before and would like to ask it again, now that there are a few more people here.

Which heroes or villains do you most relate to, either as real or as fictional or TV character? Is there any aprt of your chart you could relate this particuler preference - or loathing, for that matter - for?

I have to admit tro having a soft spot to vampires, which no doubt can be traced to my 12th House Jupiter in Scorpio. I have certainly had my Trekkie moments too, which coud be down to a 9th House Uranus. I thought the Borgs were brilliant!

An Enigma

OK folks
here is another mystery to solve, although from a slightly different angle this time.

I am not going to give th birth details just yet, as it will be too much of a giveaway.

Here is a man who had Leo rising, a Sun conjunct Jupiter in Cancer and a Moon-Merury in Gemini.
Now, there is a good chance that the Sun Jupiter was in the 12th House,lbut anyway.....

this is not someone who seemed to 'fit' his chart especially. He was an intensely shy, anxious man who never maried because of what seems to have been an almost pathological fear of closeness and commitment. He never enjoyed good health and died at 44 because of a tuberculous throat - that at least may hint at the Mars-Neptune in Taurus.

He was a salesman, but wrote as a hobby and never intended for his work to be published, but enjpoyed huge posthumous fame. Maybe that in part was the Saturn-Pluto.

If anyone asks me nicely, I will try and put up a chart that is less difficult to look at.

Any thoughts? Why was he not the rather strong, effulgent personality we might otherwise have expected?

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Transformation of the Transformers

I posted two charts for the Transformers movies. The original move from 1987 which is the animated cartoon one (I haven't see it), as well as the chart for the brand new one this year - the fully dimensional special effects intensive journey.

For those who are fans of either of the movies, or just the movie business in general, what are some noticeable differences in the charts that would reflect the growth of the movie industry from the cartoons of the 80's to the CGI magic of the 00's and allow such dramatic differences in style? Thoughts in general about the differences? They're the Transformers, after all. Epic battles of light and shadow; aliens and earthlings. Do the charts reflect at all the ways the world is different between 1987 and 2007?

Does the Godfather have Scorpio Rising or Scorpio Moon?

When I first read the book, I speculated long and hard about what the main componets of the writer's chart might be.

Here, he describes a whole culture where honour, betrayal and revenge are everything, with exortion and murder the only way in which to negotiate for what you want in life. In a way, it was apparent to me thsat the Godfather, for all its florid sexuality and violence, was a morality tale. 'This is what you get,' he suggests, if there is no real system of justice. He calles the gangster way of life a 'cancer' in fact, though he portays all his gangster characters sympathetically.

So he came across as an idealist, rather than someone who extols what he calls the 'Sicilian' way. That is what made me decide that his chart had to be made up of the tension of a highly idealistic sign like Libra and possibly, what he felt in himself to be the more atavsitic Scorpio Moon.

However, he could only have been a Scorpio Moon if he had been born very early in the morning (He was born in NYC).

So could an equally idealistic Sagittarius Moon be more likely and the inspiration for the Godfather sprung from a Scorpio Ascndant?

Any thoughts? I would be really curious to know yout answers.....

My favorite author!

Here is the chart for my favorite author ever!
I was not surprised to find that there is a similarity in our charts in that we both have this wierd kind of symmetry connected to one of the points of a grand trine. The symmetry involves our axes as well. BUT in his case the symmetry isn't quite as strong...but there is still this sense of "folding the chart and achieving symmetry"

As for hints: I'll talk about what it was about their writing that drew me in so much
It was really the alternate world created by this author that drew me into their writing...Almost if the ability to fold one's chart in half is somehow connected to reflecting an alternate reality in your dreams somehow...(ok that's mostly just wierd lol...sorry oO....but this author did at times talk and write about things seen in dreams)
But, while I was mostly interested in ingenious plots and devices between very clever people (as well as the strange and the unusual made to feel so at home and lifelike through the eyes of simple people)
This author was far more interested in romance and love stories and things that are "fair" and beautiful than I was...love stories that eerily reflect into their own story of their own life
Which is why I think their midpoints gather at venus where as mine gather at uranus...

As for clues to their real life profession: look at the MC and IC...

maybe that is too many clues lol

All I will say is that I would have expected the Sun to be even closer to his Ascendant. Also note the 1st House Mercury conjnct the North Node. There is a lot in his books about special forms of communication and Merury also brings up a lot of South Node issues too.

I've just put up a chart for this 18th Century marvel. In case you are not familiar with him, here is a brief biography:

Jonathan Jones (who writes for the British newspaper, The Guardian), wrote: "[Blake] is far and away the greatest artist Britain has ever produced." He said that "the greatest painters have stood on more metaphysical ground. They have speculated on life and death, angels and devils.....The extremes of existence, the contrary states of the human soul - good and evil. "Blake was perplexed by the things that should perplex people - moral absolutes, the limits of perception, the tragic duplicities by which we live."

Wikipedia sums up Blake thusly: "Viewing Blake's accomplishments in either poetry or in the visual arts separately is to do him a disservice; Blake himself saw these two disciplines as being companions in a unified spiritual endeavour, and they are inseparable in a proper appreciation of his work. His life is, perhaps, summed up by his statement that "The imagination is not a State: it is the Human existence itself"; though this alone may not do justice to his thought."

Blake was a strong libertarian, with a deep hatred of the tyranny that was rife during his lifetime. He hated slavery of any kind, and believed in racial and sexual equality.

His belief that humanity could overcome the limitations of its five senses is perhaps one of Blake's greatest legacies. His words, "If the doors of perception were cleansed, every thing would appear to man as it is, infinite" have influenced many, may writers and philosophers over the centuries. Aldous Huxley got the idea for the title of his book, "The Doors of Perception", from this quote. Blake is also quoted as saying, "In the universe, there are things that are known, and things that are unknown, and in between, there are doors." Jim Morrison got the name for his rock group, "The Doors", from these quotes.

You may have some some of his artwork. He illustrated Robert Blair's "The Grave", Milton's "Paradise Lost", and had just finished some of the drawing's for Dante's "Inferno" when he passed away. All definitely focusing on life and death, and the extremes of good and evil.

Or you may have read some of his writing. One of Blakes most quoted works was a volume he called, "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell."

Phil spector is an Amercian muscian-song writer amd producer .
he invented the production technique "Wall Of Sound"
He was in the movie easy rider -he played a drug dealer.
He produced so many famous muscians and singers the list goes on.

I am still pondering his chart -he was known as being eccentric and odd like in behaviour as well as a recluse.
What I have notced about him from watching court Tv ,he is currently on trial for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson, is that he will stare with very little blinking or movement -the only thing that can be seen moving is his clasp hands he sits with his hands clapsed and they tremble .
It is kind of sad but his face is cool without much expression although he appears to be far from indifferent but rather engaged with what is transpiring in the court room.
in an interview a month before the death of actress Clarkson , in an interview spector said he had a Bipolar disorder.

Okay, there's a new Mystery Chart 5 I uploaded to the photo gallery. I'm leaving out the date but I think the general timeframe can be discerned from the placements and everything.

I'll hold off on any major descriptive details aside from it's really a pioneering show when it debuted, and a risk that paid off well for the network that gave it its life.

I have noticed that no-one so far has posted on any astrological tribe about this guy yet. His chart has been pored over in great detail on one of two Yahoo tribes I have seEn, with any number of midpoints to asteroids and hypotheticals dissected.

I suspect then that this may be possibly sensitive, so if anyone knows anyone who was involved in what happened, than apologies....but this incident does raise questions about what is happening in general and therefore, there must be astrological questions in need of answers too.

I will post up a noon chart soon. He was born on the 18th January 1984 under a full moon. It is just possible that his Moon had moon had moved into the next sign Leo in the course of the day, but it does not avoid a tight t-square figure with Pars and Pluto and less widely so, with Saturn in Scorpio to both his Sun and Moon. So in clear primary brush-strokes, here is someone who from Sun-moon signature alone may be senstitive to slights and being teased (Capricorn-Cancer, or Capricorn-Leo) and then with a tendency perhaps to bottle up anger and to bear long-term grudges (Mars/Pluto/Saturn in Scorpio.)

Another factors I noticed were a Jupiter Neptune coinjunction in sextile to Mercury - tentatively suggesting an increased tendendcy towards bitterness where illusions are shattered? Also noticeable, a conjunction between his South Node and Uranus in Sagittarius - some kind of an exaggerated sense of unfairness at the inequalities of the word, possbiy?

I understand that he has been diagnosed with autism, so that possibly made it less easy for him to be able contain any rage he must have felt. Possibly. I do not see autism in the cahrt - other astrologers have looked in vain for signsof autism in the cahrt, but perhaps this is not possble. It has been suggested that whatever causes autism may take place well before the person is born. What is emphasises again is that it is that it is well known that people with autism are often teased and bullied at school, and here is the cahrt of someone, as noted before from very basic cahrt factors, who may have been unusually senstive to being teased.

I do not suggest that any of these factors excuse what this young man did but anyway, there already seems to be a context set for this kind of behaviour - it is not the first time it has happened. Are young people really bulied as much in USA colleges as has been suggested? There certianly is in UK schools, less so according to my limited expereince in Hungarian schools, and I did work in a Hungarian school for two years, though there was certainly one class I had where I saw one young man being bullied.

Another question - indigo kinds apart, is there something about this particular generation that makes its peers more liekly to act out dangerously when pushed? Personally, if faced with a class full of indiVIduals with Mars/Pluto/Saturn conjunctions in Scorpio, I might rather exptect to find them challenging, especailly if they have personal planets involved, but then I have no shortage of fixed t-squares and crosses waiting to engage with them in turn....

Any thoughts, anyone?

Just where would you be able to pick out Vol...Vol....He who Cannot be Named in this chart? It does seem a liitle uptight and Virgoan - or Plutonic?

The Leo exuberance of her earleir stories at least reminded me a lot of Enid Blyton. She did seem to have a very childlike understanding of what children like....food, lots of it.

Does anyone else think the character in the latest Pirates of the Caribbean who played the Hoodoo mistress was possibly a Scorpio Moon?

Hoodoo is a made up word for her role because she did not reveal what she was about. But the black lips....the steamy sexuality....the crackly voice.....living in the swamp lands...the whole time I watched the movie I thought now there is a Scoprio Moon woman.

Anybody know what her Moon Sign was? is? yowsa

Mystery TV Character

OK, have a go at this if you can.

The chart shown is for a famous and successful TV character.

The time may not be accurate, though the rising Jupiter certainly hints at humour and luck.
The show first apeared on air on an eclipse, and the Sun in on the South Node in the 12th squared by Pluto, Mars is also involved. In fact, the programme was scrapped at first on the grounds that it might be too scary, maybe Jupiter saved the day for it.

The villains are certainly sinister, the hero possible more of an anti-hero, us say and relies a lot on the cmpanionship of some very attractive and nice colleagues.

Any takers on guessing what this programme is?

OK - we have had some mystery characters up and that has been quite fun.
I am happy to have up the charts of serial kilers and whatever, as this is after all a tribe about the charts of heroes and villains, however there is a thread on serial killers on astronuts at the moment, so maybe that can wait for the time being.

I would like to do a mystery chart again, but this time in reverse.
Gollum has come up already in a thread here. Gollum, as in the character obsessed with That Ring, in Lord of the Rings?
He spends all his time in tunnles and caves, scavenges on unspeakablethings, would kill and betray to get the thing he obsesses most back. He is virtually immortal, but does not really do much witrh this gift.

Well, what chart would you give him? Where would you look for him in the debut of the series, if you know it, or in Tokein's chart (I could find that again. For starters, Tolkein had Sun and Mercury in Capricorn and an Aquarian Moon).

What kinds of signs and planet would you exect to find in Gollum's chart anyway?

Wanted fictional juices and writers

Nicolas Culpeper

Culpeper was born in 1616 October 18th.
He was a famous Herbalist and astrologer.
His rising sign is Capricorn- and saturn is in the second house of personal values and wealth .
At the time of his life Uranus had not been discovered yet , Uranus in would be placed in the sixth house if so making a mundane trine to Mercury in Scorpio is at the tenth house the ruler of health as well as communication. Those made a planetary inconjunct -I have found that those similar aspects in whatever houses they can more easliy make the needed adjustments in stride -this is often needed with herbal rememdies as well as in natural means healing. Scorpio and Capricorn/Aquarius would also explain his apitude for combining the traditional astrology with herbal rememdies.
His sun was placed in the ninth house this could be contributed to his published works -
this is a start to his chart -maybe I will get back to writing more of what the chart shows.

New Mystery Television Hero

Hi all. Here's my contribution to the Mystery Hero guessing game. The chart is posted in the pictures gallery as "Shane's Pick For Mystery Hero."

Here is a rather unconventional Hero, and probably pushed the limits of how one initially defines "hero." One of my personal faves, I admit I had an intant dislike of the character, but that definitely changed in a dramatic way as this is one of my all-time faves. At times both charming and despicable; at other times the outsider and yet the glue that kept folks together; at other times someone who needed redemption while also learned to help others redeem themselves. Truly a multi-layered character. I hope the description isn't too vague! :-)

Astrologers! - Important Information About Time Zones March 2007

Hi Everyone!

This is just a reminder for everyone creating astrological charts on the computer that Daylight Saving Time is now in effect in Canada and the US - 11 March 2007.

As most of the astrological software contains pre-programmed information about the time zones and DST, and will automatically change the time, you will have to double check any charts you run for Canada and the US for those born after 02:00 am March 11, 2007 and use the manual time zone function. You will need to SUBTRACT one hour on charts for individuals born when DST is in effect .

This morning I tested this by running a chart on www.astro.com for a hypothetical person born 7 am in Edmonton, AB on 14 March 2007, and it was still showing standard time. You can change the time zone by selecting the "Use Manual Time Zone" check box. A drop-down list will present you with all time zones, and you can choose the one for your area that shows the DST.

Not sure what other software will display, but it is a good idea to check.

Feel free to put up any charts of your own of either current well-known figures and celebrities, historical characters - and inception charts for any TV programmes, or fictional characters.

In the case of discussing the charts of current well-known figures, we might like to consider one or two boundaries. Obviously a very well-known and influential person can be considered 'fair game' as far as discussing their chart goes, but I would hesitate, for example, to predict any unseeming ends for them, - and some of you might have other ideas.

Other than that, anything goes!

As I said in the other Tribe, I would really like to see Mozart's whole chart to compare to my own (we share the same birthday), but I don't have a Birth Time.

The most I have to work with is January 27, 1756 in Salzburg, Austria (or at least, it's Austria now).

So from there the most I have is:

Sun - Aquarius
Moon - Cancer
Mercury - Aquarius
Venus - Pisces
Mars - Sagittarius
Jupiter - Leo
Saturn - Sagittarius
