Do you like your venus?

Venus is about what you like - but also about what you dislike. I mean, we live in a world of polarity, so liking can just as well be defined by it's opposite.
Do you like your own venus?

Mine is in Taurus. She's one hell of a lazy bitch, always looking for sensual pleasures. Thank God I have a very big saturn (trine sun) who's keeping her firm in check, or otherwise I'd be eating chocolates all day in a stinking house. Because my venus puppet hates to clean the house if it gets dirty again anyway. That would just be a waste of time you know, and instead she just wants to do nice & pleasant things.
Yet I can bear her. But I cannot stand her in others. If I see a typical venus in taurus pig shape person, with these big sensual lips born to swallow, liquids still dripping from them, wobbling on the streets with all that overweight from way too much chocolates... It just repulses me.

And what about you?

I wonder what aspects you have to your venus unsubconscious!

In my case I have jupiter opposite my venus in aquarius H9.
I think I like her so much that it's sick.

The word "alternawhore" might fit here for me haha!
Especially if it can be made to fit in some multi-cultural/ philosophical or religious context.
    Social contexts are also welcome.

But I'll take role-playing, sci-fi and any other type of nerdy connotation as well and in heaping quantities, please.
I just love being called a nerd and being a nerd. I even find nerdiness attractive.

jupiter opposition = too much ... but I like it anyway.

I *adore* my Venus ~ Rx in Scorpio, 8th house & part of my Scorpio stellium that also includes my Sun, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, Neptune, Dark Moon Lilith & Vesta ~ she encourages me to look deep & love myself ~ especially the difficult, complex & dark parts of me

plus, my Venus is sextile my Virgo Pluto, for an added *bonus* :)

    all-ways,
    mem

Yes, I do like my Venus!

My Venus is exalted in Pisces in my 1st house, conjunct Asc. It's a bit of good luck in many ways, which helps when you have Sun square Saturn (yes, I moan about that aspect all the time). Because of my Venus, I feel like I have the capacity to love beyond my ego, if I just work on it a little. But then my Mars in Scorpio will take care of the sexytime and physical excesses. Yay to that!

There is a little blissful ignorance about my Moon opposite Venus - I think it keeps things interesting even though it's probably causing me big trouble. Add my Neptune in the mix and you get an out-of-sign T-Square that keeps some tension going in the areas of moods, psychic inclinations, and dreams.

So yes, I like my Venus very much! Thanks for asking...

I also like your description of those Venus-in-Tauruses with the big sensual lips born to swallow, etc! Very imagistic!

    >>otherwise I'd be eating chocolates all day in a stinking house.<<

    Baaahahahahaa! :D

My Venus in 10H Cancer is pretty boring and kind of a drag, as far as I'm concerned. Rather ho-hum.

boring? kind of a drag? ho-hum? How come? Too sensitive perhaps? Or maybe she feels she doesn't fit in with the rest of you?

Naw. Just dull. Other people might not find it so, but to me it is sort of dopey. Got the Cap thing going on there with the dishrag Cancer. Like ~ bleh. Hearth, home, responsibility. Nothing real scintillating. Only significant aspects are sextiles to Virgo Jupiter and Asc, and they don't exactly make for great boat-floating in my book. Yawn. It is a wonder I turn anyone on at all. Good thing it isn't the only thing in my chart.

Umm, Amiable, then it your Venus placement doesn't fit in with the rest of you, because you are certainly NOT dull or dopey in any other regard, from what I have read in the tribes! I just took a peek at your profile to see if you have your chart there, and you're just beautiful too. I can say that, can't I? - this IS a Venus thread after all ;]

I tend to focus a lot on Mars-Venus when I think of romantic relationships, attraction and desire, etc. I look at Venus and how she is aspected overall when I think of sociability, teaching, possessions, or more abstract things.

Hey, C minor. My Venus appreciates your moral support. My 7H Pisces Mars is kind of wimped out, too, btw. LOL.

as for pickled stuff... amiable i used to love it, but one too many pickle juice concoctions during a game of truth & dare and its all over!

    "And what about you? "

Mine is also in Taurus. Venus is my Descendant ruler so is probably doubly important in terms of love/hate.
I've got a nice Saturn-Moon square to keep from over-eating TOO much, but like you Unsub, I do pig out on those chocolates. Chocolate biscuits are my fave - in particular dark chocolate hob-nobs. Don't know if you get them in the US, look into them, they're like a drug.

I'm also quite lazy when it comes to housework and all that kind of stuff. Typically my bedroom consists of a corner where I throw my clothes after I've worn them and they're watiting to be washed, my bedside locker will normally have a two or maybe three glasses of water that I take to bed at night, but am sometimes too lazy to bring down old ones so they accumulate, and my computer table will often sport an empty wrapper from those aforementioned chocolate biscuits and maybe two or three empty cups from tea breaks I have, and possibly a dirty plate from that delicious sandwhich I had earlier. Often these dishes will stay there for a couple of days before I bother to bring them down and wash them. I know that's terrible and I really do try to be a bit less clotty, but I just can't stand tidying things up only for them to be put into disarray again in a few days. I need to marry me a good Virgo or something.

I quite like the sensual side to taurus. There is something really appealing about their sensuality, especially Taurus rising which attracts me like a magnet, possibly because it is my descendant as well. But nothing irritates me more than the sound of someone chewing with their mouth open or stuffing their face with food. Of course I'm happy to stuff down those choc biscuits so I'm a total hypocrite!

< But nothing irritates me more than the sound of someone chewing with their mouth open or stuffing their face with food.> Hoh yes, I can agree with that!

When I lived in the UK I was hooked on Cadbury's milk bars with nuts and raisins. And of course the fudge (if I remember the word correct, it came in yellow plastic). And cheese cake... I worked in a hotel in Cornwall and at night we could all serve ourselves from the desert trolley. They were made with Cornish clotted cream, oh my God...
These days I stick to Oxfam fair trade dark chocolate because it is not so sweet. And guess what? One whole bar of that dark chocolate covers 74% of my daily need of iron!

I think there might be a fudge one, but are you talking about the Cadbury's Caramel one? Cos that IS delish!

No, it is not a fudge. It is a flake.
And don't ever come near it.
It is impossible to stop eating that stuff.
          • Re: Do you like your venus?

            Tue, September 8, 2009 - 12:48 PM
flakes? As in a Cadbury's flake sprinkled over several different flavours of ice cream, or eaten alone whilst the many many crumbs trickle unattractively down your chin, onto your clothes, possibly melting there. Yup I try to steer clear. Very addictive.

            Amiable

I think Venus definitely shows the kind of things we like and how we 'pleasure' ourself. In a sign like Taurus its right at home and does it the obvious way, breakfasts in bed, heavy foods like chocolate, a nice massage after, stuff like that.

Just wondering because of all the sugar. I can dig the breakfast in bed, room service, massage, and mouth spa visits. Just not the sugar.

"Just wondering because of all the sugar."

Actually I don't really like typically sugary things like sweets and stuff like that, just chocolate. I also don't like food or meals that are sweet. I think deserts should be sweet, but not the main course.

Ah, I see, this is about chocolate. Well, with my wimpy pickle-preferring Venus, it is a small wonder that something as obviously Venusian as chocolate would pass me by rather easily. Probably my mildly harsh aspects to Saturn & Pluto ~ preferring pickles, I mean.

My venus is in taurus 9th house. Love it.

I don't have a sweet tooth but with this venus I enjoy a harmonious meal that has been carefully planned to exalt tastebuds, wine, coffee. The 9th house influence gives a love for arts, books, philosophy...greater ideals and mysteries of life. Nature! Green trees, gardening. Fresh morning air! Sleeping, being lazy. I'm generally more of a procrastinator than lazy. Inertia. Once I stop it's hard to get going and vice versa. Tactile. Very very tactile. Love to ruffle my boyfriend's hair, smell his skin etc.

I have a huge love for venus-taurians but venus-librans I find a little too hedonistic for me. They are very graceful yet they are overtly sensual and lazy in their appetites for things - to the point of vulgarity sometimes. A venus-libran friend was guesting at my place and I was put off with her appetites - she kept eating and buying food to satisfy her moment of want but never eating it. Or eating so much of one thing that she got sick on it. It was a huge appetite in feeling good. It's been a month since she's been gone and I'm still having trouble clearing the food she bought because I hate throwing and wasting food and will have to eat them. Maybe because of the air influence, I find the venus-libran sensuality too empty and cold - wanting too much of a good thing through a mental desire that feels disconnected from the body (temple of the soul). Or maybe it's just the 9th house talking.

Maybe your saturn is bumping on something in the chart of that visiting friend?

Nay. I was venting. We are very close friends but she lives in another country and we haven't seen each other in a while. We both changed - I more saturnine about while she seems to lavish carelessly with material concerns. I was simply shocked because I forgot the extent of her appetite. And I really hate throwing food away! Haha. Should check her transits. She went through a bad patch about marriage and children and now compensates unhappiness with shopping and eating good food.

Illustrating and making a tiny vent on a friend's appetite was perhaps not the most appropriate way to say what I feel about Venus-libra. I love the libran energy but sometimes I do find that energy to be a little cold. That is all.

Pretty late in on this one, but I can definitely dig this.
As a fellow Leo Venus, mine exactly squares my Ascendant. If anyone ever asks me what I like I kind of go "dunno" and get all embarassed which I think is mostly this planet jarring with how I present myself (Asc.)
Mine definitely fits with Tradition by Sign and Wisdom by House, which I think has a lot to do with my love of astrology as an ancient form of wisdom. Also I think it fits with being an Irish traditional musician, and I think love of gardening (protective Leo expressed in growing 9th house.) Again, Ithink the square aspect means I always find it hard to drop these things into casual conversation.

An Aquarian Venus sometimes makes me less than happy with my love life....freedom being so important etc etc.

thankfully I have a merry Leo Moon that brings fire and life to love and the converse too .

we. are, of course an artful mix of all the elements, signs and houses..

I like my Venus in Leo, which has given me a love of drama, and the dramatic. I love people with a lot of spirit...people with a zest for life. Most of the ladies I've been enamored of over the years have been artists of one kind or another, including a few who were into acting on stage. Of course, it's sometimes a problem when I feel no compunction about showing my affections for someone anywhere, anytime...I long ago discoveed that some people are just not that open. But on the other hand, I not only enjoying showering loved ones with affection, but also with presents, and there's been a lot less resistance from my significant others to this.
