Born in 1983, Damien Michenaud discovers dance music during his teenage years. Native of the Poitiers area, in the west of France, he comes from the village where Moon Spirits Records were created, he naturally discovers the psychedelic trance in local parties. So he then develops a passion for this music and tries his hand at djing and radio by taking part in the "Take Off" show on Pulsar 95.9.
In 2007, he founded his solo project called "Aladiah" and after some musical experiences with his friends Axone, Signs and Cryogenic, he releases his first tracks in 2009. Active member of the first Moon Spirits' team, he's now the label manager accompanied by dj Pulsate who now becomes the Artistic Director.
He lets us discover his vision of this music through his first album named "Nuclear Vision" which will be the first release of Moon Spirits records' revival.
Between Full-On and progressive, he will offer you a trip through a mature production with light melodies and a dancefloor dynamic.
There’ no doubt that his music will be played around the world by famous Dj's thanks to tracks like "Equinox" or "Sex enhancer" which will delight the purists of Trance.
Aladiah is also working on a compilation "The Moonwalkers", a selection of powerfull artists for the pleasure of your ears, another appointment not to be missed!

Libération Animale is a story about animals, earth and unnecessary suffering. It is an attempt to shed light upon the everyday suffering of billions of living beings, a suffering on which we rarely reflect. Leo Tolstoj once wrote that a man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite. Hence, the message of Libération Animale is that we are all equal, no one more worthy than the other.

The story starts out with Kluster and Bloomen whose tunes are somewhat slower and minimalistic with squeaky, trippy sounds. The introduction is followed by The Grobians’ hypnotic beats and goa tranceish melodies and grand bombastic Scandotrance à Ka-Sol. After that, it is time for Procsish basslines, prolonging the previous dancefloor hypnotism. Taigan Sun’s contribution is what you can expect from an up-and-coming producer from Sweden, modulating between being funky and driving, soaked in prominent mind-bending elements. Known for their fine forest trance, Attoya, Traskel, and Zoon increase the intensity of the story, hovering between different types of abstraction, speed, and moods The story ends on a positive note yet still intense with Money Cannot Be Eaten’s Schlabbaduerstic hangover tune.

The music is at the centre of attention and we do not demand that everyone be vegans, even though we wish that would be the case. What we do wish, however, is that everyone out there will reflect on his or her way of life and how it affects all living beings with whom we share this planet. Unnecessary suffering can be avoided and it is not too late for change and compassion!

As one of the world’s top drum and bass dj/producers, Gridlok has left a legacy of releases on many of the most regarded labels in the scene. His work ethic and tireless efforts to advance the sonic breadth of the music have yielded tremendous dividends for drum and bass fans worldwide.

That every cause has an effect is common knowledge. For Optiv, Stuart, Mark and Tobie, the cause is drum & bass, and their effect is both indelible and undeniable.Known collectively as Cause 4 Concern, the crew came together back at the start of 1999, when Optiv and Tobie were affiliated with Aspect Records, and Mark and Stuart were working for Vinyl Distribution. A testament to their talent, it took only a few short months of collaborative creation before they scored their first signing – and not just to any old label – but the massive and seminal Moving Shadow. At the time they were known as nCode, but by July they had become Cause 4 Concern and started their own imprint label. WANTED: Pole Dancers to Volunteer for the Arts - Atlanta Area

STEAMBUG is an art car / art project applying for funding from the Alchemy Arts Fundraiser on June 27th. We have a great big and very sturdy pole mounted on top of a winged '69 purple VW Beetle- and we need YOU do dance on it. It will be parked curb side, directly in front of the venue, so flashy is encouraged, though there is regrettably no nudity in public...

Requirements for Dancers:

* Must know how dance on a pole
* Must feel sexy and inspire lusty feelings in others while dancing
* Must be OK with heights (platform is about six-feet off the ground)
* Must be sober enough to not fall off
* Steampunk attire a bonus!

hey y'all. greg here from secret society.

this event was truly spectacular in every way for me. so many amazing people to meet and such intention put into the event. it really felt like flying across the country just to come home again! you were all so chill and nice and fun to talk to and dance with. you all have something really special going on that so many will travel so far for an event... keep up the high energy, this spark was big enough to start a raging fire!

was really nice meeting all the folks from the easterly crews and further west. was wonderful meeting dave(cinder) at last and casey, thanks for keeping us healthy and happy during our visit, as well to pusky, super cool mo fo. it was awesome seeing melissa again after so many years, and meeting so many beautiful and intelligent faces throughout the weekend. thanks very big for bringing us out to your neck o the woods, it was such a pleasant time and we had so much fun playing with all of you guys.

all in all i give this party 3 thumbs up, way up. keep up the vibes, you guys and gals on the other side...

THIS SATURDAY 21st! NEW SECRET LOCATION - especially geared towards this community!

Hey guys n gals!

I haven't posted here in a couple months now! Been kinda busy, sick, caught up in relationshits and all kinds of good and bad things! :)

Anyway so I met with this guy named Justin Bealf, who owns a couple of spots with the King Plow Art center - 981 Joseph E Lowery Blvd. to be exact....this is a 10 second walk from the GA State dorms, if you know what I mean. There's a 2 condo style apartments with high ceilings and quite big open areas too do some serious partying!

Now we've already got a sound system and are going ahead and doing a practice event there this Saturday the 21st. It's not going to be heavily advertised at all...but it'll somewhat be an after party for any shows going on this weekend. We're gonna kick it off at Midnight and it can basically go on till whenever!

I've been in touch with Charlie P (ALR) and David (mr 'vomit'alot ;) ) , and they're definitely down too.....now I just need some good community effort and support from the psy-community! You guys are always family oriented and love to get silly behind closed doors. So this spot is perfect for this. I've got a couple of burner friends visiting from LA on a camper, and it's kinda like a welcome party for them too. But it's really just a practice event/ get together for a bunch of us, that just wanna let loose for a weekend and have fun!

We're thinking about having the night start off with a little reggae, dubstep and then get into the feet stomping psytrance to go on till whenever! :)

What I need from you guys, is maybe some with decor abilities to come help set up some sweet visuals, etc. We also need a sick Psytrance DJ to play till the wee hours in the morning...this can be as many djs as possible...it'll be open style decks...but I don't want any drama and silly vibes...just good djs that know what they're doing and know how to keep a nice steady vibe! :)

I was planning on getting some alcohol...but i'll take a vote on this...we can keep it strictly herbals - magic chai, OJ, maybe some spiced up punch, fruits and nice edibles....things to help promote a healthy life! :)

We are very open to ideas - and I haven't posted this on any other forum...or site. I think keeping it small and simple and spreading it by word of mouth will be good enough. :)

Ephemeral Mists is the newest side project by composer Brett Branning (The synthetic dream foundation & Abandoned Toys). The debut album, "Moon Ritual" is out now on Mythical records.

The sound of the project is best described as downtempo ambient electronics mixed with ethnic world musics in the vein of "Karma" era Delerium, Amethystium, and Dead Can Dance. Its really a very intoxicatingly beautiful creation and I highly recommend it to anyone into ambient music styles.

ETERNAL: The Chandler Harris Benefit.

Chandler was an attendee at The Alchemy ’08 festival and a member of the Detoured Souls theme camp. A tragic incident left him badly burned. Thanks to a heroic act by a member of the Atlanta Psytrance community, he survived. He was then airlifted by helicopter from the event to the Augusta burn unit. After a two month battle with his injuries he passed away on December 6th, 2008. All of the money raised at this event will go to Chandlers family.

You can create your own big group if you want, but I was trying to keep us all connected here. I was thinking NC could add a sub group and psybama and arkansas. that way everyone will know when a road trip is in order :)

Atlanta Psy will have a Theme Camp this year at Alchemy! We're already knee deep in planning, and want to see you there!
We will be offering not only sound delights all weekend, and a richly enhanced UV atmospheres-
We are also planning to hold the first Annual Alchemy PsyGames, full of shenanigans and madness!
Designed to test the endurance of the mind and body, these Games will include Cognitive Puzzlers, Dizzying Dashes, and hopefully, lots of falling down. We have some events planned and will have a scheduled time for them. But we are also looking to you, to come up with some awesome ideas for possible games to play. They will need to be safe, well... for the most part, relatively short and and as crazy as you can conceive. Think whacked elementary school field day , meets Mr Wizard.
If anyone is interested in helping host some of the games as well, this would be helpful, not to mention fun! We will probably need some volunteers to help in hosting the games. More to be announced....

Besides this, we have an AfterBurn on Sunday planned, as well as some other surprises in store!

So.... I got my plane ticket and all that jazz... so its official!

As I'm coming in from out of town.. I need help with a couple things.

1) Ride to & From the airport...

Tried to make the times as easy as possible....

a) (3) 8ft 2x4s
b) (1) Cast Iron Skillet
c) (1) 12v Battery of 30Ahr or greater

I can manage the 12v & the skillet if need be.... but can bring more random stuff if I can save the weight. The 2x4s I really have no way of getting out there. I will burn them at the end of the weekend, so they don't need to be taken back out.

I'm going to be setting up a small theme camp on the main esplanade or wherever I am placed. Going to do an E.L. wire workshop on Friday/Saturday and maybe do some late night snack cooking for passersby.

Brand spankin new dj mix by me that includes some of my favorite tracks at the moment. The style ranges from totally nuts to groovy-drippy-trippy dancefloor smashers. It was recorded on Aug 02, 08 at PsyCircle Studios in San Diego, CA.

Equipment used:
M-Audio Torq DJ Software, 2 x Pioneer CDJ-800's for the track controls, Ecler Hak-320 DJ Mixer. Recorded on a PC using SoundForge 7.0 through M-Audio Project Mix I/O Preamps.

We are excited that our favorite DJ is once again here tonight in ATL, spinning at Swerve (WetBar). I don't know how many Psytrancers are into his style of Mushroom Jazz, House, and Down-Tempo, but we love his music and always enjoy going out to catch him.

Confused about the music...

Hi everyone,
The Swamp Stomp was our first ATL Psytrance party, and we really enjoyed it! Wife & I loved the swamp theme as we are from New Orleans. The vibe was great, the people and hosts were super nice, and it was a cool space. We are so glad we went.

We are still a little confused though. We are usually into House, Trance, Down-tempo and ambient music. I was anticipating that psytrance was similar to what the call "Goa Trance" - kind of a blend of trance, ambient, and some Asian or other international sounds. We were only there from about midnight until 3am, but we heard nothing that sounded like what I thought would be heard. In the main swamp room, the dj had this driving, fast, sometimes metallic-sounding beat going the whole time we were there. He occaisionally dropped something in there with a more relaxed, slower feel, but never kept it. It all seemed to get darker and faster as time passed. When the second dj came on sometime after 2am, the music sped up and got even harder sounding.

In the smaller room toward the front, the music seemed to be a mix of industrial/goth sounds with a techno beat, again not what comes to mind when I think of Psytrance.

Maybe it is just me having the wrong expectations, but the dark, driving, speedy sound seemed way out of place with the peaceful, loving vibe that the people had, and that I thought the event itself had.

I do not mean to sound critical, as we had a really good time and definitely want to attend the next event. I might have had the wrong musical expectations in mind. Again, thanks to everyone who put the event together. It was alot of fun.

Lost Poi (at Goa Gil)

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone happened to find my fire poi at Gil? We spun shortly after the sun started to rise. I laid them down on the ground near the path and when I was getting my stuff together to go back to camp they were missing. I'm hoping someone picked them up to play with them and couldn't find me because I went back to camp. I looked all over the ground in the area and next to the fire and I could not find them.

Did anyone stumble across my poi or happen to accidentally pick them up? They are brand new (Gil was the first time they were burned). They use twisted link chain and have "moonblaze" wicks with a swivel coming directly out of the wick that connects to the chain. If you have seen them please let me know as that stuff isn't cheap. :(

I'm new here, and to psytrance, and to most electronic music in general. Yippee! Haven't filled in any of my information yet, I'm currently at work waiting for something to happen so I can leave. Thought I'd introduce myself in the interim.

Hi, I'm lakelight.

The sounds I'm liking so far are Goa Gil, Nommos, Simon Posford projects (ze shpongle turned me on to ze psy), Para Halu, Penta, 1200 mics, some Astrix, these Helix remixes, and that's all I can think of now. The Infected Mushroom that I hear so much about, I maybe got the wrong one, vicious delicious? Oh, me.

My background is mainly "rock," all kinds from pop to arena to various punks and metals. Totally burned out on the rock these past couple years, I'd been getting into a lot of hard bop and modal jazz, avant garde composers (Braxton, Cage, Stockhausen), "new weird american" whatever the hell that means. Anyway, I heard a Venetian Snares track on the radio, started seeking various electronic sounds, which led to Shpongle, and so here I am.

I've a longstanding interest in Hindu and Tantric traditions, especially kashmir saivism and vajrayana, as well as the myriad spaces accessible through entheogenic, ecstatic, and contemplative portals, so psytrance suits my fascinations nicely. My wife and I are planning to make the Goa Gil party, quite stoked about it.

Gathering of the minds...

So I was thinking of getting a little group gathering....at a restaurant or something...just for people off this list to meet outside of an event...just to kind of have a little more of a personable meeting. It doesn't have to get all crazy...even though it can if it need be. I had a great time meeting all of you at Arctic Meltdown and I would really like to keep strong ties between you all.

I've been in touch with Prerna, and she's down and would like to help organize it a little more. I'm opening this discussion for ideas of meeting places and any other ideas towards what the little gathering could be meant for.

Protesters in Boston, Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa, Germany, Italy, Mysore, New Delhi, Chennai, Buffalo, Chile, Vienna, Israel, Denmark, Lithuania, Norway, Chicago, Bangkok, Seoul, New York, Sydney, London, San Francisco, Minnesota, Barcelona, Munich, Belgium, Taiwan, Paris, and even a vigil was held in Beijing. Unprecedented numbers of peace marchers, hunger strikes, vigils and protests in front of Chinese Embassies worldwide is surely not what the Communist Chinese Government had intended when they made the decision to 'crackdown' on Tibetans. One report even states that Tibetan protesters were gunned down in broad daylight in the streets of Lhasa. The Israeli parliament held a discussion about "the Genocide in Tibet".

Maybe the world is asking China to have compassion if they want to have their 'precious' Olympic Games if you read in between the lines. Several top athletes have already threatened to boycott the games and Beijing can't even promise clean air for them! I hope for a quick end to the utter stupidity and arrogance of the Chinese Authority in regards to the complete brutalization of any sense of the term 'human rights' amidst this 'crackdown' on autonomy ...
