Edmonton is our ancestral homeland - okay Granny still lives there and she'll be 90 this year so I'm bringing dh and the kids for the first time. Any recommendations on fun stuff, food, etc. more on the natural, earthy, end of the scale?
Our boys are 6 and 4 so we're planning on Fort Edmonton and the museum and (not big on zoos but) maybe Storyland Valley Zoo if it still exists...? My dad says we MUST go to the waterpark at the mall but it's really our last choice. Oh and dh needs to get his picture taken with the statue of Wayne Gretzky. Other than that we're stopping in Drumheller on the way home but I'd love any other ideas/suggestions.
Many thanks!

Re: visiting in July
Sat, May 20, 2006 - 2:18 PMCafe Mosaics on Whyte Avenue and 109 street has great veggie food, beautiful people, and they are totally kid-friendly -- just show up early if you want a table for brunch.
Hawrelak park is beautiful for wading and paddleboats and picnics with the kids.
Farmers' Market on Saturdays in Old Stratcona is crazy fun.
