The pants! Aaah, the pants!
I've thought about making these for YEARS now - ever since my sister bought a pair of extreme flare pants at Rave and has been wearing them everywhere. Since I can't do anything simple, I had to add gores and lacing into them. I've already ordered the fabric for these, the pair on the right will be made from black cotton spandex with black satin ribbon lacing, and the pair on the left will be made from ivory cotton spandex and ivory stretch lace. Aren't they CUTE?!

hopefully that made sense... Describing visual things without drawing pictures is hard for me!
I have now made the first pair of both of these pants. (made one choli too, but it didn't turn out quite right, so I have to do it over again...) I am going to sell both of these styles on my website sometime in the future. I have found a supplier of 10 oz cotton spandex (wonderful fabric - as heavy as denim, as soft as cotton, and as stretchy as swimsuit material.) I will offer a total of 3 styles, the first will be plain (not pictured - full extreme flare legs but no decoration) for probably in the $50's or $60's - I haven't made a pair yet so I really have no idea on the time. The pair with the lace inserts and the lace skirt atop them will come as a set (both separate so you can wear them separately) for probably around $100, and the other pair in the picture (which I keep trying to wear everywhere by the way, I love them so much!) should go for hopefully less than $90. My first time making them didn't go so well, I kept making stupid mistakes which slowed me down, but I'm going to make another couple of pairs and see if I can get my time down... I am thinking of selling the pattern for the plain style also. What does everyone think on that?
And by the way, this design is in no way related to Melodia's. Although my deciding to make it now is admittedly a result of seeing all my friends wearing Melodia pants and wanting something like that for belly dance, I have been drawing sketches of pants like this for years now - long before I saw Melodia pants for the first time. hehe - in fact this pic is one of my early designs www.auralynne.com/ebaydesig...epants.jpg The difference between my pants and melodias are that mine don't have slits in the legs and the flare at the bottom is about 4 times as full, by the way.
And as I've said, I've now made both pair of these and I will get my husband to take some pics and get them up here ASAP so you can see - they really did turn out PERFECT! :-D
