Hey hoopers of Austin and the surrounding areas,
Someone very, very close to my heart has been affected by Scleroderma for many years. Next Saturday 6/6 there is a 5K fundraiser for The Scleroderma Foundation at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. They would really love for some hoopers to come and entertain the runners/walkers/hobblers as they move along the path.
This will be super low key, not a real performance, just hooping in the park and cheering on the people in the race. Wear a costume, bring extra hoops, teach people how to hoop as they walk by, get fed.
I, unfortunately, can't attend because my niece is graduating that day in Dallas. But I would really, really appreciate any of our local hoopers could take the time to go and hoop at this event.
The details of the event can be found here:
www.scleroderma.org/chapter/...nWalk.htm
More information about Scleroderma can be found here:
www.scleroderma.org/medical/...view.shtm
The walk starts at 9am, I don't know how long it usually lasts. There should be a good amount of space in the grass to spread out, in fact, some of you Circus Arts peeps could probably bring mats and toss each other around. ;)
If you can make this (which I really hope some of you can), please contact me VIA EMAIL (carrin72 at hotmail) and I will get you in touch with the right people to get you all the details.
Thanks, Sincerely,
Carrin
