Hi everyone,
I'm new here so please excuse my leaping in with a question but I am going crazy trying to make my own hoop.
First I bought the wrong pipe which lead me to this group and the various posts about sourcing materials in Australia.
I have finally ended up with 20mm (the only other option was 25mm) 160 psi poly pipe but I can't, for the life of me, find connectors that fit. 19mm connectors are too big and the only other ones that Reece/Bunnings had were too small.
Are there other, equally stable methods for joining the pipe or does anyone know where I could find the right connector?
yours, wringing hands,
Amelia

Sun, September 28, 2008 - 5:24 PMWell done,
They can be really hard to find so make sure you make friends with the people at the store where you can get them.
My store closed early this year so i have been working on a few other solutions but none of them are as easy and elegant as those connectors.
Have fun making your hoops :)

Wed, February 11, 2009 - 5:17 PMHow did you go with those? I found the connectors but they don't work as well as plastic pipe I found that sits fairly flush with the inside of the 19mm polytubing. We have different kind of pipe connectors in Australia

Re: Hoop Making: Wailing, Hair-Pulling and Other Expressions of Frustration
Tue, January 6, 2009 - 6:25 PMHi there
I just made some great hoops yesterday using this post:
www.jasonunbound.com/hoops.html
I went to bunnings, spent $25 on the piping and there were ideal connectors there for $2 something.... just search around at bunnings they've got it all.
:-)
I am searching for better coloured tape.. if you happen to know a good source.
Good luck! -

Re: Hoop Making: Wailing, Hair-Pulling and Other Expressions of Frustration
Tue, January 6, 2009 - 9:07 PMYeah unfortunately due to us not having the same electrical codes as the states we don't get all the cool colors of electrical tape as they do.
I can't even seem to find the good kind of gaffers tape so yeah any tips would be great if you see it around.
