Hoopers in Geelong?

Hello there,

I’m going to be in Australia, Geelong, for 10 months from July to April. I cannot take my hoop with me, so I’m wondering: are there any generous hoopers in the area who would help me? So far, all I have ever used is a flimsy wave hoop (I have taught myself to hoop on the hip and waist and neck, on the arm and elbow, I can lift the hoop and do a kick start and so on, but more difficult stuff is impossible with that tiny thing) and I would love to finally have a real hoop! I don’t think I could order one from Australia, though, not as a host student, and I’m going to need all the money I have for clothes and the like.

Does anyone live in the area and can help me? Is there maybe a local hooping group? If not, I’d love to help starting one :) (If my schedule allows it of course - I don’t know yet what my everyday life will look like.)

Love,
Kjesta

Humm as far as i know there are not an hooping groups in Geelong but it is a medium sized town with lots of farming in the area so bet it would not be to hard to find the correct pipe for making hoops.

Also there are quite a few hoopers in melboure i think so if you wanted to meet up or take a class with people it could be worth the day trip every now and then. On the plus side you can catch a train straight there from geelong and i'm pretty sure it takes under 2 hours.

Oh and i just realised if you are parsing through melbourn you could buy a hoop from the juggle art shop www.juggleart.com for $30 i think.

    Good luck :)
