A big loud zagareet out to Ava & Yumi LaRosa and their dancers for putting on a FABULOUS show!

Mujeres. A beautiful, artful display of belly dancing and flamenco.

I LOVED, LOVED, **LOVED** the opening duet with Ava and Yumi (accompanied by Eric Zang).... sorta-kinda "When Cultures Collide in Denim." Totally unique. And then on to alternating presentations of Flamenco and BD. It was so much fun to watch! Oh,and Aurora... it was FAB seeing you in action again. You are as beautiful and graceful as ever.

What can I say about Yumi LaRosa? She is the tiniest little POWERHOUSE of a dancer I've ever seen. She must weigh 80lbs soaking wet but you can FEEL her presence via shockwaves when she dances. She has the grace of a gazelle with the power of a lion, all in a cute, tiny little package.

Now, Ava. Dear Ava. The personification of beauty, grace, technique, all with a sense of goofiness that brings her back down to earth with the rest of us. A serious dancer. A serious performer. A serious performance... and yet she's not afraid to inject her sense of humor into what she's doing. I stared. I laughed. I zagareeted. I yelled out "OPA!" (yup, that was me). What didn't I do? BLINK! I didn't want to miss a nanosecond.

And I cannot forget the ridiculously talented Beatmaster Eric Zang. His intricate fingerwork on whatever "thing" he happens to be playing never ceases to amaze me. I think he can play more instruments than I can even name! So, some well-earned YIPS out to Eric.

So thank you Ava, and thank you Yumi, and thank you Eric and Gaetano (flamenco guitarist extraordinaire), and thank you to ALL the dancers who looked like they were having so much FUN up there. It was a pleasure to watch.
