Hello, I have a rare syndrome called complex regional pain syndrome. I am wondering if any one has any idea as to what I can do for my self to overcome this disfunction. I am currently taking a multi and mag/cal reverse ratio, pantothinic acid and B complex. I have made an herbal mixtute of three parts. 1.Austragulus, valarian, siberian gensing, and licorise. 2.St. johns wart, ginkco. lemon balm, scullcap, chamamile, oat straw. 3.Spiriment, chamimile, and hybiscus. The last set is just to make it taste yummy. I do physical therapy too. It is the nervous system overreacting and affects my circulation. The body does not recieve enough oxygen either. I know it is rare, but if any one has either known someone, or has worked with someone , please let me know what you or they have tried that seemed to work. Thank you and blessing.

手太阴肺经脉

【循行】
《灵枢·经脉》：肺手太阴之脉，起于中焦（1）下络大肠，还循胃口（2），上膈属肺。从肺系（3），横出腋下，下循臑内（4）行少阴（5）、心主（6）之前，下肘中，循臂内（7）上骨（8）下廉（9），入寸口（10），上鱼，循鱼际（11），出大指之端。
其支者：从腕后，直出次指内廉，出其端。
[本经穴]中府（肺募），云门，天府，侠白，尺泽（合），孔最（郄），列缺（络），经渠（经），太渊（输、原），鱼际（荥），少商（井）。
【注释】
（1）中焦－－宋·王维一《铜入腧穴针灸图经》注：“中焦者，在胃中脘，主腐熟水谷，水谷精微上注于肺”。
（2）胃口——《铜人》注：“胃口，谓胃之上口，赉门之位也。”
（3）肺系——元·滑伯仁《十四经发挥》注：“谓喉咙也。”喉咙，兼指气管而言。
（4）臑内－－臑音闹。指上臂。屈侧称臑内，当肱二头肌部；伸侧称臑外，当肱三头肌部。
（5）少阴——此处指手少阴心经。
（6）心主——指手厥阴心包经。
（7）臂内——臂，指前臂；内，指内侧，即掌侧。
（8）上骨——“臂之上骨”指桡骨。
（9）廉——指侧边而言。
（10）寸口——腕后桡动脉搏动处。
（11）鱼，鱼际－－“鱼”或称“手鱼”，今称“大鱼际”，“鱼际”即指鱼的边缘部分。
【语译】
手太阴肺经：起始于中焦胃部，向下络于大肠，回过来沿着胃上口，穿过膈肌，属于肺脏。从肺系－－气管、喉咙部横出腋下（中府、云门），下循上臂内侧，走手少阴，手厥阴经之前（天府、侠白），下向肘中（尺泽），沿前臂内侧桡骨边缘（孔最），进入寸口－－桡动脉搏动处（经渠、太渊），上向大鱼际部，沿边际（鱼际），出大指的末端（少商）。

【病候】
《灵枢.经脉》：是动则病（1），风寒：肺胀满，膨膨而喘咳，缺盆中痛（2），甚则交两手而瞀（3），此为臂厥（4）。
是主肺所生病者（5）：咳，上气，喘喝（6），烦心，胸满，臑臂内前廉痛厥，掌中热。
气盛（7）有余，则肩背痛，风寒汗出中风，小便数而欠（8）；气虚（9）则肩背痛、寒，少气不足以息，溺色变（10）。
【注释】
（1）是动则病－－张景岳《类经》注：“动言变也，变则变常而为病也。”指这一经脉发生异常变化就可能出现有关病症。
（2）缺盆——指锁骨上窝部。缺盆中，包括喉咙部分。
（3）瞀——音茂。指心胸闷乱，视力模糊而言。
（4）臂厥——指前臂经脉所过发生气血阻逆的见症。
（5）是主肺所生病者－－指这一经脉（腧穴）能主治有关肺方面所发生的病症。
（6）喘喝——气喘声粗。“喝”或误作“渴”。
（7）气盛——指实症、阳症，与气虚相对而言。
（8）欠——指呵气。《太素》杨上善注：“阴阳之气，上下相引，故多欠也。”有作小便量少解，不确切。
（9）气虚——指虚症、阴症，与气盛相对而言。
（10）溺色变－－溺，读作尿。小便颜色异常。
【语译】
本经有了异常变动就表现为下列病症：肺部胀满，膨膨气喘、咳嗽，锁骨上窝“缺盆”内（包括喉咙部分）疼痛；严重的则交捧着两手，感到胸部烦闷，视觉模糊。还可发生前臂部的气血阻逆如厥冷、麻木、疼痛等症。
本经所属腧穴能主治有关“肺”方面所发生的病症，如咳嗽，气上逆而不平，喘息气粗，心烦不安，胸部满闷，上臂、前臂的内侧前边（经脉所过处）疫痛或厥冷，或掌心发热。
本经气盛有余的实症，多见肩背疼痛，感冒风寒自汗出，伤风，小便频数，口鼻嘘气；本经气虚不足的虚证，多见肩背疼痛怕冷，气短、呼吸急促，小便的颜色异常。

手太阴络脉

【循行】
《灵枢·经脉》：手太阴之别（1），名曰列缺。起于腕上分间（2），并太阴之经（3），直入掌中，散入于鱼际。
其病：实，则手锐（4）掌热；虚，则欠（去欠）（5）小便遗数（6）。取之去腕一寸半，别走阳明也。
【注释】
（1）另－－即络脉。从本经分出的络脉，由此走向相表里的经脉。
（2）分间－－指分肉之间。当桡骨茎突后方。
（3）并－－指与经脉并列而行。
（4）手锐－－手的锐骨部，指鱼际后方。
（5）欠（去欠）——欠，呵欠；（去欠）同（口去），张口的样子。虚则欠（去欠），肺气不足所致。
（6）遗数－－遗，小便不禁；数，小便频数。
【语译】
手太阴络脉，名列缺。起于腕关节上方桡骨茎突后的分肉之间，在腕后一寸半处，走向手阳明经脉；与手太阴经脉并行，直走入手掌中，散布在大鱼际部。
其病症：实证，手掌和手腕部灼热；虚证，呵欠、尿频、遗尿。可取手太阴络穴治疗。本络络于手阳明大肠经。

手太阴经别

【循行】
《灵枢·经别》：手太阴之正（1），别（2）入渊腋少阴之前，入走肺，散之大肠，上出缺盆，循喉咙，复合阳明（3）。
【注释】
（1）正——十二经别又称别行之正经，意指从十二经脉分出。
（2）别——分别，指十二经脉循行通路之外的另一通路，别道行走。这与经脉、络脉所指之别意义不同。
（3）复合阳明——复，再走。阴经经别，合于有表里关系的阳经；阳经经别则合入本经。所以十二经别，就构成为“六合”
【语译】
手太阴经别，从太阴经分出，进入腋下渊腋的部位，行于手少阴经别之前，进入走向肺部，散到大肠，向上浅出于缺盆部，沿着喉咙，由此再合入于手阳明经脉。

手太阴经筋

【循行】
《灵枢·经筋》：手太阴之筋，起于大指之上，循指上行，结于鱼后（1），行寸口外侧，上循臂，结肘中，上臑内廉，入腋下，出缺盆，结肩前髃（2），上结缺盆，下结胸里，散贯赉（3），合赉下，抵季胁。
其病：所过者支转筋痛（4），其成息赉者（5），胁急、吐血。
【注释】
（1）鱼后——鱼际的后边。
（2）肩前髃——即肩髃部。
（3）赉——膈肌。杨上善注：“赉谓膈也。”
（4）支转筋痛——支，支撑不适，转筋，肌筋拘挛掣痛。
（5）息赉——古病名，为五积之一，属肺之积。主要症状为胁下有积块而气逆上奔。
【语译】
手太阴经筋：起始于大拇指之上，沿大指上行，结于鱼际之后，行寸口动脉外侧，上行沿前臂，结于肘中，向上经过上臂内侧，进入腋下，出缺盆部，结于肩髃前方，其上方结于缺盆，自腋下行的从下方结于胸里，分散通过膈部，与手厥阴经之筋在膈下会合，达于季胁。
其病症：在本经筋循行处，可出现支撑不适、拘挛掣痛，重者可成息赉病，胁肋拘急，上逆吐血。

经络学说的临床应用

经络学说在临床上可以应用于解释病理变化、协助疾病诊断，以及指导临床治疗三个方面。

　　1、解释病理变化

　　经络与疾病的发生、传变有密切的关系。某一经络功能异常，就易遭受外邪的侵袭，既病之后，外邪又可沿着经络进一步内传脏腑。经络不仅是外邪由表入里的传变途径，而且也是内脏之间、内脏与体表组织间病变相互影响的途径。

　　2、协助疾病诊断

　　由于经络有一定的循行部位和脏腑络属，可以反映所属脏腑的病证。因而在临床上，就可以根据疾病所出现的症状，结合经络循行的部位及所联系的脏腑，作为临床诊断的依据。如胁痛，多病在肝胆，胁部是肝经和胆经的循行之处。近年来，人们根据经络循行通路，或经气聚集的某些穴位上出现的疼痛、结节、条索状等反应物，以及皮肤的形态、温度、电阻改变等来诊断和治疗疾病，如肺脏有病，中府穴可有压痛。

　　3、指导临床治疗

　　经络学说早已被广泛用于指导临床各科的治疗，特别是针灸、按摩和中药处方。如针灸中的“循经取穴法”，就是经络学说的具体应用。如胃病，常循经远取足三里穴；胁痛则取太冲等穴。中药治疗亦是通过经络这一渠道，使药达病所，以发挥其治疗作用。如麻黄入肺、膀胱经，故能发汗、平喘和利尿。金元四大家中的张洁古、李杲还根据经络学说，创立了“引经报使药”理论。如治头痛，属太阳经的用羌活；属少阳经的用柴胡。

【概说】
　　中风是指突然昏倒，不省人事，口眼歪斜，语言不利，半身不遂或不经昏倒而见口眼歪斜，语言不利，半身不遂的疾病。因本病起病急，证候多，变化快，颇与自然界中“风”性善行数变相似］故名“中风”；又因发病突然］又称“卒中”。因发病轻重不一，故有中脏腑（闭证、脱症）和中经络之不同。
　　本病相当于现代医学的脑出血、脑血栓形成、蛛网膜下腔出血、脑血管痉挛、病毒性脑炎、中枢性面神经瘫痪等病。
　　【病因病机】
　　中风多发生于中老年人，由于身体素虚，加之将息失宜，而使肝、肾、心、脾的功能失调，肝肾阳亏则肝阳偏亢，心阴不足则心火偏亢，脾阳不足则痰湿内生，如遇忧思恼怒，饮酒暴食，劳累过度，风寒外袭等诱因，即可肝阳暴张，引动肝风，心火暴盛，风火相煽，气血并走于上，挟痰浊，蒙闭清窍，发为闭证；如真元衰微，阴阳离绝则复生脱证；痰浊流窜经脉，则发为偏瘫。
　　【辨证治疗】
　　（一）中脏腑
　　1、闭证
　　主证：突然昏倒，不省人事，两手握固，牙关紧闭，面赤气粗，喉中痰鸣，二便闭塞，舌赤红苔黄厚或灰黑，脉弦滑有力。
　　治法：取督脉、足厥阴经及十二井穴为主。毫针泻法，或点刺出血，以开窍醒神，平肝熄风，清化痰火。
　　处方：水沟、十二井穴、劳宫、丰隆、百会、太冲、涌泉。
　　随证配穴：牙关紧闭：下关、颊车、会谷；舌强不语：哑门、廉泉、通里。
　　方义：水沟醒神清脑；十二井开窍、清热，点刺出血可交通十二经气；营宫泄心火；丰隆为胃经络穴，针之以宣通脾胃气机，健脾胃以化痰浊；百会、太冲平肝熄风；涌泉滋肾水以平肝潜阳，诸穴共奏开窍醒神，平肝熄风，清化痰火之效；下关、颊车、合谷，疏调上下牙关以开闭；哑门醒脑开窍，配廉泉、通里利舌窍以治不语。
　　2、脱证
　　主证：突然昏倒，不省人事，目合口开，鼻鼾息微，手撒遗尿，四肢厥冷，如面赤如妆，脉微欲绝或浮大无根。为真阳外越之危侯。
　　治法：取任脉经穴为主，重用灸法，以回阳固脱。
　　处方：神阙、关元、气海、百会。
　　方义：神阙位于脐中，为生命之根蒂，真气功所系，关元、气海为任脉、足三阴经交会穴，位居小腹，关元为三焦元气所出，系命门真阳，气海为元气之海，故隔盐灸神阙，并灸关元、气海可大补元阳，回阳以固脱，灸百会以通督脉，醒脑开窍。
　　（二）中经络
　　风痰阻于经脉，未及脏腑，或中脏腑后，脏腑功能逐渐恢复，而经脉仍为风痰阻隔者。
　　主证：半身不遂，肌肤不仁，手足麻木，口角歪斜，语言不利，或兼见头痛眩晕，手足抽动，面红目赤，咽干口渴，烦躁等症，脉多弦滑。
　　治法：取手足阳明，手足少阳、太阳经穴为主。针刺平补平泻法，以祛风痰、通经脉、调气血、平阴阳。
　　处方：
　　上肢：肩髃、曲池、手三里、支沟、合谷、后溪。
　　下肢：肾俞、环跳、阳陵泉、足三里、太冲。
　　头面：百会、风池、地仓、颊车、哑门、廉泉。
　　方义：阳明为多气多血之经，气血旺盛，疾病易于恢复，故取肩髃、曲池、手三里、合谷、足三里、地仓、颊车、以通调上肢、下肢及头面之气血，祛风化痰；少阳为枢，主持全身之运动，取支沟、风池、环跳、阳陵泉各穴以舒筋通络，恢复肢体的运动功能；百会、风池、太冲、平肝熄风以治兼证；地仓、颊车治口角歪斜；哑门、廉泉以通舌窍；后溪强刺激可通督脉以解痉挛，为治上肢不遂，手握不开之经验效穴。
　　【其它疗法】
　　1、头针
　　取穴：对侧运动区，感觉区，足运感区，舞蹈震颤控制区。
　　方法：常规消毒后，依次针入各有关穴线，要深达骨膜后，进行捻转手法，每分钟140-160次左右，连续捻转2min,边捻针边叫患者活动肢体，停针5min，再捻转2min，如此操作，留针30-40min，每天或隔天一次，10次为一疗程，此法对大脑中动脉和前动脉分支的血栓形成效果好。
　　2、耳针
　　取穴：脑、缘中、肝、三焦、瘫痪部位相应的耳穴。失语加心、脾；吞咽困难加口、耳迷根、咽喉。
　　方法：隔日一次，15-20次为一疗程。耳针适用于脑血管意外后遗症（中经络），宜在病情稳定，神志清醒后进行。
　　3、电针
　　每次上下肢各选1-2穴，进针出现针感后，接通电疗机，逐渐加大电流，使有关肌群出现节律收缩，以患者能耐受的最大量为准，每次通电20min，隔日一次，10次为一疗程。电针适用于风中经络。
　　4、穴位注射
　　选穴：上肝：曲池；下肢：阳陵泉。
　　方法：选用5%当归注射液，每穴注入1ml左右，隔日一次，10次为一疗程。此法适于中经络。
　　5、皮肤针
　　轻刺头部督脉，膀胱经线，重刺胆经线，背腰部轻刺，骶部重刺，上肢内侧手三阴经轻刺，手三阳及手指端穴重刺，下肢膝以下足三阴经线轻刺，下肢足三阳及趾端穴重刺。每日一次，10次为一疗程。适于中经络较轻的患者。
　　【附注】
　　预防中风：凡年高形盛气虚，痰多，并有眩晕，心悸等肝阳上亢的患者，若出现舌强，语言不利，嗜睡腿软，性格改变，指端麻木等现象，这是中风的先兆症状，宜注意饮食起居，避免劳累，并常灸足三里、悬钟，以预防中风的发生。

We would like to invite you to join us for the AWB "We Stick Bayou! Summer Pledge Drive"

Acupuncturists Without Borders is currently on the ground in New Orleans providing free community style acupuncture. We are sending teams of volunteer acupuncturists from around the country and we would like to ask that you join us in continuing this vital work.

Since October 2005, AWB has treated over 5,000 people with free community style acupuncture in Louisiana, including evacuees, first responders, relief workers, and others. Hundreds of people in New Orleans have contacted AWB since the inception of the program to find out where they can get treatment. The population continues to describe the extremely difficult ongoing conditions, emotionally, physically, and spiritually almost one year after Hurricane Katrina.

While some government agencies and other organizations are pulling out of Louisiana and the Gulf Coast, we are determined stay, and to help people for the longer-term, as they so urgently need and want.

We intend to send teams to New Orleans for up to six months. The situation continues to be severe, with people experiencing Post -Traumatic Stress Disorder, along with associated conditions of fatigue, insomnia, anxiety and physical illnesses.

We urgently need funds to support this effort. We also need funds to support a new project to treat soldiers around the country upon their return from Iraq and Afghanistan. This project will begin in the near future.

Here's how you can help:

Join our Summer Pledge Drive and commit to raising $500.00 during the Summer of 2006. Make a regular financial contribution to AWB. Some people are donating 5% of their monthly net income. Some practitioners are pledging the equivalent of one treatment fee per month, and AWB will manage the monthly deduction on your credit card. Other practitioners are donating several dollars per client/patient for the duration of the Pledge Drive, or for longer.
