Comments Etiquette?

When someone leaves a comment on your blog, how do you handle it?

That is, do you reply to every comment that is left on your blog? If so, how... by e-mail or by leaving another comment?

Or do you not reply to any comments?

I usually try to reply to the comment author via e-mail to let them know I read and appreciated their comment, but I'm curious how others handle it.

    I usually only reply to comments that I think I need to reply to. Most people aren't expecting you to answer them unless they specifically answer a question. Obviously, if you say something in your blog that somebody interprets the wrong way, you should respond to their answer and set them straight.
