Does anyone on this tribe spin fire in guatemala, or know anyone that does, or where to go to catch the community? If so, please let me know! I'll be there June 16th-July 8th...and three weeks of the summer is a long time to not light up... : )

    Hey Aileen,

I think your best bet would be San Pedro Laguna, on lake atitlan.. There you would find a condensed population of alternative travelers. But im sure you would have found yourself there anyway.

    Happy Travels.

Wohoo! It's great you are coming to Guate! Hope you have a wonderful time here!
Like you've been told, you’ll definately find fire spinners in San Pedro, Santa Cruz, San Marcos and Panajachel! If go to the lake maybe you can go to la Cambalacha (www.lacambalacha.org/) in San Marcos la Laguna, I know they have different activities there, they might be able to give you more information.
In the city there is a coffee bar called Suae, in cuatro grados norte I met some fire spinners there. And there is a place in the old post office it's called Caja Ludica (www.cajaludica.org) they teach fire spinning, joggling and other arts to kids,
I think it would be a good place to meet fire spinners. But if you don't come to the city and go to the lake I'm pretty sure you'll find fire spinners there!
    Enjoy your time in Guatemala!

Trust me you will definitely find fire spinners during your trip. While I was down there I met up with a group of burners, 2 from Chicago and one from Germany.. we did had soo much fun and since my return to the states I have randomly run into the 2 from Chicago multiple times, both at BM and away.. enjoy yourself.
