Glass and porcelain insulators and electrical antiques...

Well I had to join this tribe since I have been interested in collecting antique insulators ... streetlights and related power line electrical things since childhood . I am something of an industrial archaeologist and quasi professional historical researcher/writer as much as a collector . I am one of the few collectors who actually goes out and finds these artifacts in the wild.... If anybody else out in tribe land has an interest or questions about these sorts of things Id be happy to chat ... I would guiess there are about 10000 active collectors of all types of insulators in the world wide .
It is always intresting to connect with others who have a passion for preserving history
Trivia... Last year a rare 1893 era glass power insulator sold on eBay for $10000 to a collector I am friends with ... there are a few more photos of me hunting for these in my profile .

Enjoy
