Re: ergo or beco
Fri, September 21, 2007 - 10:34 AMi have an ergo & i love it, but i'm going to vote for the beco because it's not made in china like the ergo is. while the laborers are paid fairly & treated well, i feel that outsourcing is crippling our economy. becos are american made. if this had been a bigger issue for me 3 months ago, i would've gone the wy of the beco along with jessica.
that's my .10 worth. -

Re: ergo or beco
Fri, September 21, 2007 - 11:18 AMI have a much more superficial reason to go with the Beco- I think it is much cuter. Keep in mind that I have not used either- this is based on looks alone! But in my quest to find a carrier my boy likes I ordered a beco yesterday and eagerly await its arrival! There were so many cute choices, I wanted to get more than one!

Re: ergo or beco
Sat, September 22, 2007 - 5:40 AMThe only thing about the Beco is that I woulder if the material covers to much of the head. Can you fould it down? It looks like the pictures are a like confidingwhile the ergo gives a little more room. Thank you everyone for your help. I want to buy one that I will get a lot of use out of. -

Re: ergo or beco
Sat, September 22, 2007 - 6:42 PMNot sure what you're asking about with the Beco covering the head. I have no problems with my guy, and there's really not enough "extra" material to fold down.
I know the Beco looks narrowed, but they are almost identical body sizes, we put one on top of the other once and they were soooo close.

Re: ergo or beco
Fri, September 21, 2007 - 1:34 PMthe other nice thing about the ergo is that you can get a backpack attachment for it that is only $35 and worth every penny. we've used the hell out of the entire package!
but yes, the beco is cuter :) -

Sat, September 22, 2007 - 8:08 AMi don't get it.

Unsu...
Re: ergo or beco
Sat, September 22, 2007 - 8:48 AMNope, It attaches on to the ergo while you are wearing the ergo, so you can lug a good amount of stuff around in addition to the babe. It's awesome.
Here is a pic that shows what it looks like attached:

it can also be worn as regular backpack .

Re: ergo or beco
Tue, September 25, 2007 - 10:08 PMI know this is cross contaminating (ha ha joking) but you can use the ergo backpack attached to your beco too. I have both and it attaches to the beco just fine b/c the beco and ergo are pretty similar in design. But like I've said before I love my beco more cause it is more comfy, has a removable hood, is made of non toxic fabric in USA and is just waaaayyyy cuter than our ergo. I've got the sky temple pattern beco I think I posted a pic somewhere on this tribe on our boy in it riding on daddy's back. -
