If you feel that what has been compromised by the increase in numbers is:
1) a real sense of community,
2) a refreshing reminder that humanity is inherently good,
3) the rule of NO SPECTATORS
4) the philosophy of RADICAL SELF-RELIANCE - not being understood or enforced
5) the sense of walls around camps has become apparent (you don't pay to be a part of a camp, you don't get to experience it),
ETC, ETC.... (please help add to this list)
What can we do to take back our Burning Man of yesteryear? To create a sense of Utopia and childlike freedom without judgement once again? To break down the walls of seperation, of evident financial class systems, of the apparent "red rope"?
Let's find answers to questions such as:
1) Why have the gate staff taken on such a surly attitude? They are the first people we see when we arrive after a long journey. Why do they think it's okay to be agressive and unfriendly? Is there something we can do to communicate this to them? (P.S. - my gate staff friends..THANK YOU for still staying you and not being okay with the overall negative attitude)
2) Why have large camps with wealthy corporate owners come to believe it's okay to hire party planners and crews to set up so they only need show up?
3) Why has the "perv" factor reached an alltime high? How do we protect ourselves?
4) How do so many people get through the gate without knowing the basics of the survival guide (i.e. PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT)
Let's take it back! So here it is....an official OPEN INVITATION to share stories of disappointment and negative experiences that occured at Burning Man 2007 or years past. But remember...we're looking for SOLUTIONS as well.
