I commute 50 miles a day... Last tank was 3.79, Arco near where I live. The shell by my office was charging 4.05 this morning! BASTARDS!

When in LA over the weekend I saw an exxon charging 4.35 for unleaded...

Gas in Hawaii is around $4.13 a gallon for regular unleaded.

I pay nothing, I ride a bike and use our Metro system. I have not pumped gas in about 2 years (I share expenses when carpooling though), last time I looked at a gas pump, while walking around, it was OHHHH MY.......$4 a gallon? Still cheaper than Europe.
That was right after I watched the DVD 'who killed the electric car?' Good timing. I am angry and amused at the same time.

I did a vanpool for a while, and will do it again all summer. It's hard during the year though as They leave my neighborhood at 6:50 AM and I cannot drop my youngest off at school until 7:15... Taking puplic transit takes 3 1/2 hours each way...

Do you commute from Sonoma valley to SF? I did that for a year and it totally burned me out. I began to figure that if I wanted any kind of exercise, I'd have to do it on the bus!

No... In San Diego county. East county to La Jolla, 25 miles one way. It's not too bad, usually under 45 minutes and much better that the north to south commuters around here. And the bonus is I could actually afford to buy a place in the east county, it's surrounded by open space, and I have a lake across the street.

4.48 for diesel in kansas yesterday. havent caught the latest gas price around here. I'm still stupified about the diesel price in kansas.

for some reason diesel is always more expensive in kansas. it was 3.65 here in manhattan earlier this week, but this is graduation weekend at the university, so it will probably go up to 4.65.

WOW I guess I should feel lucky. So far I think I'm the lowest at 3.49.... Diesel goes for just over four bucks a gallon.

I remember filling up my first car for an even twenty. Now a fifty won't even stuff my same-size-tank to the gills anymore.

I keep wondering when is the breaking point to where the public will start taking agressive action in the market?

FOR EXAMPLE... let's none of us go to Exxon-Mobile, or any related company. Starve them for business. Their prices will come down. Don't give in. Keep starving them until they drive back down to a reasonable two bucks or less. Then use them freely, and starve another company. Drive it down. Take control of the market. What is a corporation without consumers? Who really controls the oil prices?

But being realistic, there's no collective spine left in america. Just a mass of stupid sheeple consumers, each one craftily convinced that they exist to put money in the pockets of anyone wealthier than themselves. Sad.

That being said, I still gas-up exclusively at american fuel stations. I do not buy OPEC fuel. Stricktly domestic. Usually Maverick, cause they're all over the place out here.

I figure, yes, american oil is giving us the shaft, and it's disgraceful. But it's better than giving money to nations like iran or venezuela who, even if they don't use our own money against us, will certainly not return any favors to our hemmoraging economy.

In Ontario we are currently paying aproximately $1.30 per litre, give or take a few cents. There are aproximately 4 litres in a gallon, so we are paying about $5.20 per gallon here! Talk about insanity! $20.00 gives me 1/8 of a tank of gas!!

Most places around here are at $3.89, but Costco is at $3.68.

I don't drive myself, but I know that my monthly bus pass has gone up $4 since last year at this time and it's likely to increase again. Still, cheaper than driving.

yea I stand corrected. Here in Utah it's 3.59, gone up ten cents since last I filled up, about four days ago. I don't understand what the finish line is, but gas prices are sure in a hurry to get there!

Nothing. I haven't bought gas since it hit $2.00 a gallon.

I'm more concerned about food. When the trucker's decide their through with getting screwed by the oil companies, the average persons food will still be 1500 (or whatever) miles away.

...half what I expect this time next year. I've decided to look for a durable bike with all-weather tires. The only reliable energy source and driveline I can come up with is still..........me.

Hard to go to Vegas on a bicycle.

I'm getting a motorbike again, probably in another month here. The pumps don't sting as bad when you're getting 65 miles to the gallon. It's all I need for commuting and most of me and my wife's travel. Insurance is about fifteen bucks a month. The car can be relegated to larger grocery trips and hauling passengers, but will probably stay parked the rest of the summer. It never rains more than twenty minutes in a day here in Utah

Last I paid it was $4.17 @ Chevron in Riverside county. I fill up there because my almost 10yr old truck runs better on its fuel for some reason. I'm too far from my job to commute or use public trans. Carpool would be nice if they stopped at the stables for my horse and the gym on non-stable days. Plus I have a weekly stop at the dr. office for BP check.
Half tank fill up is running me just over $25 now. Sigh....

Up the street the Shell is running Diesel @ $5.19. Geesh. Still not Euro prices so I can't whine too much.

it's up to $3.85 here. up twenty cents in a week.

My favorite part is how congress called the american oil companies to 'answer for their price raises'.... oooh like everyone is supposed to be impressed. What are they gonna enforce? nothing. Oil company says 'eh, it costs money to make oil. we charge money. whatdya gonna do?' ...and congress says, ''well, we had no intention of doing anything. we just wanted to look like we were grilling you, to make our voters happy. go ahead and charge whatever you want. Half of the prices on oil is tax dollars anyhow. off you go.''
