We all draw creativity and inspiration for things from something.
Music, Film, Materials, Old Crafty Stash...etc.
Lately, I have been inspired by going through my old scraps of material and other crafty items where there was left over from the original project but not enough to make a second one.
Giving a second life to some clothing I can't wear anymore that I've hung onto for far to long.
Where do you find your current fountain of creativity?

Re: Creation and Inspiration
Fri, January 4, 2008 - 6:19 PMIn trying to find something else today in the costume bins, and I came across the first cabaret bedlah I made. This midnight iris and black thing with appliques and hand-beading galore, first thing I corseted (the belt only, on 2 sides). It's on a black eyelet lace bra that's actually mostly covered, and the belt doesn't have any fringe on it...and I've eschewed it from years because the night I performed in it as a baby dancer, it seemed everyone else had professional real Egyptian or Turkish costumes. Today, I pull it out of the bag, wondering if it's worth selling and take a look at it. And I'm surprised at what I see. I did all this crazy looping and fringe on the bra ---you know what, it's actually very beautiful...and the belt just needs some Egyptian fringe....and I found this matching beaded hipscarf that I stowed away with it, and a 1920's style beaded fringe cap that I never really wore b/c I had long hair. I think it just needs a little love and it could be an awesome set.
