I got to see Fajera perform last night.
In my opinion her hair and make-up and costuming was spectacular! Her costume was gorgeous *and* unique. The gray velvet was practically screaming for us to go stroke her, her belt was Asian Fusion/Gothic/Ethnic grandness (I *want* one!) With her hair in a Asian inspired knot...lovely!! ! Oooh and her eyes! I hope someone took some pictures-and hopefully did a few portraits of her as well.
Her dance had all the elements that I think makes a great performance. Energetic, graceful, sexy, humorous, with the right combination of simplicity, with some difficult moves added for interest, and the perfect music to match the style, and mood. It was beautifully put together and I felt that she (at least at that point, since I couldnt stay) stole the show!
She inspired me to get out there and perform again ...and I think showed the belly dance community that you dont have to do ATS, Cabaret, Moroccan, or Egyptian totally. You can combine styles-throw a little goth, a little humor, a bit of everything you want too, and create something more beautiful than anything else. She showed creativity with dance and did it very well! I'm impressed!!
I cant wait to see whats next!

Mon, June 18, 2007 - 12:53 PMThank you.
I'm so sorry that you missed a great show.. Every single performance that night was incredible. I am most proud to be able to say that I was able to be with such an enthusiastic group of dancers!
I felt that every one did an awesome job, from first time performers to amazing stories of one girl who had less than one day to learn the whole piece she did after being in an accident.
I'm looking forward to dancing with these outstanding ladies again!
