Bahaia can help you bring attitude to your dance! This workshop covers combinations and technique similar to the dances of Egyptian celebrity Fifi Abdo. Learn the stylizations of egyptian balady dance, and how to craft an energetic yet earthy persona. (includes one-hour lunch break)

Indian/Egyptian Fusion: Bhangawazee

A mixture of Bhangra and Gawazee movements creating an interesting upbeat and complex movement vocabulary for incorporation into your fusion dance styles.
Bahaia of Austin, Texas is a belly dance performer, instructor, and promoter with over 15 years of experience. Bahaia performs at community events, corporate functions and family celebrations. She offers weekly classes and private lessons for all levels and seminars on technique and choreography throughout the USA and annually in Jamaica. Bahaia hosts annual belly dance seminars and retreats in Central Texas. She is also the founder & president of the Aria Dance Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated
to promoting belly dance as art. Recent career highlights include: "Ya Bahaia" music CD for belly dance and "Cairo Heat Wave" Egyptian dance DVD, both produced by Bahaia; "Belly Dance Live", "Belly Dance Sensations" and "The 6th Awards of Belly Dance" DVDs, produced by the Int'l. Academy of Middle Eastern Dance in Los Angeles, CA.
DaVid is the co-founder and artistic director at the Ethnic Dance Academy (the EDA) in San Diego, and he is the dean and coordinator for the EDA Diploma Programs as well as director of the EDA Dance Company. DaVid has contributed to several award winning dancers as their performance coach. He annually produces the EDA Annual Exposé, the EDA Annual Weeklong Summer Intensive and the San Diego Instructors' Kick Off Show. He is an active supporter of the dance through memberships Al Farah ODF (Norway), and SAMEDA (San Diego, CA) and voluntary contribution as a board member for MECDA San Diego (USA). DaVid also served as judge at the Bellydancer of the Year Pageant in 2005.
