Dabke

Dabke is a line dance, a folk dance that is done throughout the Middle East. And there are all sorts of regional (Lebanese, Syrian, Palestinian, etc.) variations. Variations within countries, too. Here are some examples of dabke from YouTube, so you can see what I'm talking about:

There are basic steps that are quite simple, and it can get as complicated as you want. Instead of a "happy dance," we used to end ethnic festival performances by getting the audience up to dabke. Happy viewing!
