Hello all--I was wondering if there was any info about ongoing stage combat classes up here in the bay area..have been searching but can't seem to find any updated material about it. If anyone knows a group or school up here, please, drop me a line!! I'm wanting to get back into taking classes. Thank you!

You might want to ask this question of the Swordplay or Students of the Sword tribes.

The only school for stage combat in the Bay Area that I'm aware of is the Albion School of Defense. Albion's classes take place Tuesday nights at ~7 pm at the Veteran's Memorial Hall in El Cerrito. One of Albion students originally started Bankeside as a Southern California branch, and I'm a student at both schools (although I confess to not attending either regularly enough).

Other than that, the only thing I'm aware of specifically for stage combat is a class in "Stage Combat: Elizabethan Rapier and Dagger" being offered by Berkeley Rep on Monday nights starting in late October and running for 8 weeks. I'm planning to sign up for it, as are 1 or 2 other Albion students.

    Hope that helps!

There was (is?) a group called Albion school of defence. I am not sure of the spelling bit they were associated with the Nor Cal Ren Faire before moving to the new Casa Fruit local.

Pax Smith (also on tribe- So Cal Ren Faire site) is a part of the school and you could contact him for other info. I think he lives in the city.
