On 9/13 I deposited a check for $280 into the BoA atm. I wrote the check from another personal account. On 9/22, the check made it to my bank, posted and was debited the $280.
Yesterday, I logged onto my other personal account and saw that I was overdrawn by $280. I immediately called my bank and they told me that BoA had re-presented the same check for a (2nd time). My bank saw what happened and then credited me the NSF fees. Cool.
This morning I logged onto BoA, and I see that my account is in the red, with a returned check for $280. I went into BoA and printed out what had happened and explained that my bank rectified in on their end and wanted boa to do the same. BoA said that my check was damaged and that they do not accept damaged deposits. If that was the case, why process it. I was told that it was a computer error and that Solutions was the only dept that could belp me. Solutions said that it can be up to 2 weeks b-4 the situation is corrected. My other bank is going to fax them a copy of the paid check and will say there was no reason for the check to have been re-presented for a 2nd time.
For this bank to be one of the largest in the nation. They have no customer service and customer retention skills. The banker I spoke with didn't even seem phased that I would leave BoA.
Any solutions besides a good tongue lashing...

Re: Overdrawn... BoA at fault!
Thu, October 6, 2005 - 1:57 PMGeez. that really sux.
All I this made me think...when yo mentioned how they weren't even phased that you wanted to close your account...was when I was applying for a student loan, and the choices were B of A or some other bank (I can't remember) I said "anyone but B of A!!!" and the admissions counselor laughed and said "Everyone says the same thing! Everyone hates them!"
Anyway, your story is nuts. I've heard so many stories like this.
