PEOPLE THAT WORK AT BANK OF AMERICA ARE STUPID AND SHOULD ALL BE FIRED.
A couple weeks ago I was offered a very tempting and good job. The job was to have money transferred into my bank account and my job was to send the money via western union to another person and I get to keep 15% of the total amount which was $2000. I took the job and was asked to provide my account information so the funds could be transferred into my account. I had a feeling this was a scam so I called bank of america to confirm that the information I give away could not be used to withdraw any money from my account and the bank of america representative said No, it could only be used to add funds. I agreed and provided the recruiter my account #, last name, and zip code. The next day I go to my online banking account and look at my transaction history and I received a total $2460, and a pending debit of $700. But the Bank of america representative said that it was not possible withdraw money from my account with the information given, and I'd realize this had to be a scam. I called bank of america again and spoke to another representative, this time I asked who was withdrawing the money and she said she didn't know and she only knew it was from out of state. I told her the story and she said that I should never give away my account info because it CAN be used to withdraw money. The next thing I did was went to the teller and withdrew all the money that belong to me which was $214.99. What would you have done? would you leave your money knowing that it can be taken by these crooks? I called bank of america again and reported the fraudulant activities, they investigated and finally called me back after 2 weeks. He said the funds that were transferred into my account were stolen from various people, and that Bank of america WAS the one that withdrew the money all along, not the crooks. I told him my story and he said no one could withdraw money from my account except for Bank of america. When I went to the teller to take out the money that was mine, $214.99 I had forgotten that there was still a transaction that hadn't gone through yet, it was for $36. Bank of america had returned all the stolen money to it's rightful owner leaving my account with $0.00. The transaction for 36.63 finally went through and my account has an insufficient fund so I get charged $68. The investigator that I spoke on the phone with was very professional and UNFRIENDY. He said that I now owe bank of america 104. He treated me like a criminal and talked to me as if I had stolen these people's money. But in fact, I am the victim here. Those people got their money back and I'm glad they did, but they did not have to go through what I went through. After realizing the whole thing was a scam I stopped communication with the real criminals, and ever since then I have been recieving threatening emails. Every day I live in fear that someone will come knock down my door and kill me, that Someone will track me down and steal my identity. I'm now confused by all the mix messages I recieved from Bank of America representatives. THEY ARE STUPID AND SHOULD BE FIRED. On top of that I now owe Bank of America $68.
NOW I HAVE TO GET MY ASS TO BANK OF AMERICA AND TELL THEM THIS WHOLE STORY AND HOPEFULLY THEY WILL NOT CHARGE ME $68 FOR THEIR STUPID MISTAKES AND THE WRONG INFORMATION THEY GAVE ME. I WILL ASSURE THEM THEY WILL NEVER SEE MY ASS IN THEIR GREEDY BANK AGAIN.

Re: BoA treats me like a criminal
Fri, February 10, 2006 - 10:00 AMUnfortunately you were involved in a 4-1-9 scam (also called a Nigerian scam). Go to this website www.secretservice.gov/alert419.shtml and call the Secret Service, your local Police, and the FBI. Get a Police and/or FBI report and give this to your banking manager. Have the police get in touch with the bank as well. I am sorry you were scammed; Bank of America should put a fraud alert on your account and you NEED to talk to the fraud department at the bank. INSIST this be fixed. Do this ONKY after obtaining proof of an FBI and Police filing. Show this proof to the bank. Do NOT let them get away with this. If that does not work...call every attorney in the book; asking for someone who deals with banking laws AND international fraud.
Good luck...BoA are asses when it comes to helping people....they could care less. Make them care; hire an attorney if you need to. It would be worth the money.
Never give out your personal information to anyone you do not know and would trust with it. Ask for company information and proof that they are a company if you have to. Go to www.ftc.gov and www.bbb.org to check them out or get advice from the FTC on a company in question.
The bank treats this as a crime because it's money laundering and is a Federal Offence. I am not saying you would do such a thing or that the bank is right in treating you that way but, if you do not deal with this now, you may be looked at as a criminal by more than the bank. You are a victim and I would hate to see you be looked at as anything other than a victim.
